The sun finally came out on Saturday and what a stunning day of netball it was!

From our youngest players right through to our open divisions, it was fantastic to see the courts buzzing with energy.

This coming weekend, our Saturday competition takes a well earned break for the June Long Weekend as our representative teams head west to Penrith for the 2026 Senior State Titles.

We wish our 15 Years, 17 Years, Open Women and Open Men all the very best as they proudly represent Manly Warringah on the state stage. We know you'll wear the blue and white with pride! πŸ’™πŸ€

Before we introduce our State Title teams throughout the week, we'll be wrapping up a huge weekend of netball and sharing some of the highlights from across the association.

Good luck to all our players, coaches, managers, umpires and officials travelling to Penrith. Bring home some great memories!

This Saturday, the The Salvation Army Australia will be visiting John Fisher Park as part of the 2026 Red Shield Appeal. ❀️

MWNA has proudly supported this worthy cause for many years and we encourage our community to get behind it once again.

Times are tough for many families in our local community and every donation, big or small can make a real difference.

If you are able to spare a few dollars while at the courts on Saturday, please consider supporting the Red Shield Appeal.
Thank you for helping those who need it most.

Know the modified rules!

Our NetSetGo program (7 to 9 years) at Manly Warringah Netball Association is based on development over competition, helping players build skills, confidence and a love for the game in a fun and supportive environment.

It is important that all age groups are familiar with the modified rules that have been distributed and that these are also shared with your umpires. The rules are available on our website and are also displayed at the ring room each Saturday.

If you are unsure about anything, please ask one of our friendly NetSetGo officials who will be walking the grounds on game day and happy to assist.

Your club can also help with complete training plans and session videos to support coaches and teams throughout the season.

A tip for our Home Team scorers this Saturday.
How good is the live scoring?

Great job everyone with Live Scoring during Game 4 πŸ‘

Only a handful of minor issues popped up with players not being added to line ups, however these were addressed during the games and scorers were educated on the process. Thank you all for adapting so quickly to the new system.

Just a reminder that there are to be 𝗧π—ͺ𝗒 scorers standing together at all times, one from each team. The home team scorer is responsible for entering 𝗕𝗒𝗧𝗛 the home and away team line ups before the game commences. Please stand together like the old photo card days and go through the line ups carefully to ensure all players are allocated correctly.

During the game, the home team is responsible for entering the goals, while the away team verifies the score throughout the match.

Once the game has been completed and verified by both scorers, no appeals regarding the final score will be accepted, regardless of what spectators believe the score should be from watching online via Netball HQ or recording through other means. Occasionally there can be a delay with the syncing between PlayHQ and NetballHQ.

Thank you everyone for embracing Live Scoring and helping make the transition such a success for our Association.

Congratulations Charlotte. πŸ‘

Looks like one of our white NetSetGo rings may have accidentally gone home in the Saturday rush 🫣

If you’ve spotted a lonely white ring hiding in the garage, car boot or backyard, please bring it back to the Ring Room this Saturday.

Unfortunately we don’t have spare white rings, so without it we’ll need to leave one hard court out of action each week during our NetSetGo games 😭

Description:
βšͺ White
β• Round
🏐 Only fits the white posts at Curl Curl.

Thanks everyone for helping us keep our NetSetGo courts running smoothly πŸ’™

A big weekend ahead at John Fisher Park this weekend! πŸπŸ’™

Game 3 of our Winter Competition kicks off from 7:50am on Saturday, with our NetSetGo stars taking the courts first and bringing plenty of energy and smiles with the odd cartwheel.

We then welcome visiting associations on Sunday for our Development Carnival, including 11 Year Talent teams who get underway from 8:30am.

Both days are shaping up to be extremely busy around the courts, so please allow extra time for parking and moving between courts, supervise younger siblings at all times and help us keep the venue safe and enjoyable for everyone.

βœ… Leave enough time to park safely and legally.
βœ… Follow all council signs.
βœ… Do not park in kiss and drop areas.
βœ… Be respectful to our neighbours and do not block their driveways.
❌ E-Bikes are not permitted

Rangers regularly patrol the area, so please adhere to parking regulations.

πŸ“’ Note: There is a change to parking on Abbott Road along the white fence (Court 10 and 11). Nose to wall only.

Thank you for your cooperation and enjoy the netball!

Let's go Wakehurst!
Game three this weekend. Best of luck to all teams playing.
There are no half games this weekend. They have been moved to round 2.

As we head into Game Three this weekend, it has been wonderful to see such a big support crew down at the courts cheering on our teams. The atmosphere has been fantastic πŸ’™

Just a little reminder though that we have a huge number of games running across a very busy venue, with limited space around the courts. Please ensure younger siblings are supervised at all times. Last weekend we had a few incidents with small children running into umpires, skating onto courts and balls travelling through active games.

John Fisher Park is an open public space, so children should also be supervised when heading to the canteen, toilets or the park.

For everyone’s safety:
❌ Please leave bikes, skateboards and scooters at home
❌ E-bikes are not permitted within John Fisher Park. If they are being used as transport to and from the courts, they are to be left at the bike racks along Abbott Road and not brought between the courts
❌ Our furry friends are best left at home too
❌ Chairs should be set up at the ends of courts and away from the umpire’s lines.

Thank you everyone for helping us create a safe and enjoyable environment for all players, officials and spectators this weekend. Let Netball be the winner. 🏐
