📸 Our dinner celebrating 30 years of Women’s Baseball but on digicam

A couple of weeks ago we held a very special evening marking our Women’s Program’s 30th year, featuring Polaroids, a custom cake, and speeches from the people who started, championed and fuelled the program over its successful history.

A big thank you to everyone who’s been a part of the journey, this couldn’t happen without you 💙🖤

We kick-off the Women’s Division 1 finals season tomorrow with the first-ever postseason all-UMBC game.

🏆 SEMI FINALS 🏆

It smells like finals season and here’s what’s cooking 🧑‍🍳

🔹 Finishing as the 2026 minor premiers, the A4s make it another year of consecutive finals campaigns. Finishing in 1st place with a 14-2 record, their regular season featured a game with 3 homers, 6 games won by mercy rule,
3 shutouts and Eli throwing a CGSO. They face the 2nd-place team Knox at Footscray, previously seeing them twice this season with a 1-1 record.

🔹 A second consecutive year into the postseason is Women’s Blue, having posted a 9-4 record to finish in 2nd, ahead of 3rd by 4 wins. They won 3 games by mercy rule and 3 by shutout. In the semis they face the reigning premiers and other UMBC team, Women’s White at RSF, having clashed 4 times this season with a 1-3 record. The winner will progress straight through to the grand finals.

🔹 Having never missed a postseason, the Women’s White team finished as Women’s Division 1 minor premiers, with a 12-2 season record and 3 games won by mercy rule. The reigning champions look to make it back-to-back wins, first facing Women’s Blue at RSF after going 3-1 in head-to-head this year.

Join us for an evening of celebration and recognition as we honour the outstanding contributions of our players, coaches, and volunteers.

The UMBC Presentation Night features speeches from our coaches and team managers, and a meal provided by the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre. Your first pint, wine, or soft drink is on us to thank you for a fantastic season.

Dress code: Semi-formal attire (no jeans or I will personally slime you)

We've got 3 teams locked in for finals and another 2 teams giving their all and fighting for a chance to join them. This weekend we have the A3 & A4 at home on Diamond 1 and D1 & D2 on Diamond 2, for their last games at RSF for the regular season.

Don't forget our we are celebrating 🎉 30 years of the UMBC Women's Program 🎉 this Saturday at 📍Inner North Brewing, make sure you have your tickets and we'll see you there!

💣 HOME RUN DERBY TIME 💣

To close off the 2026 season, we’re bringing back the Home Run Derby for another afternoon of big Stevey bombs.

Come to Ross Straw to support the women’s derby, then get ready for the home run derby and a tasty BBQ feast.

Everyone is welcome to enter the competition. Take a swing, have some fun and go for the home run bragging rights!

🏆 Big-ish Blue Champions 🏆

Winner winner, chicken dinner! We had a great night last Friday supporting our Unimelb IV crew to a 13-7 win against Monash University.

The team safely secured the very official intervarsity cup, and we're looking forward to defending it at next year's Big Blue match.

We have some thank yous from the evening:

🔥 Round 16 Scores 🔥

Round 16 brought us 4 wins by our A3 and A4 teams against Ringwood (with a complete game shutout from Eli Gunther 💪), D Grade against Footscray (with some great adjustment to a sidearm pitcher), and Women's Blue coming from behind against North Balwyn (with pitching debuts from Zoe Chen and Coach Paula).

Good luck to our teams for our final two weeks!
