In yet another display of sheer dominance in Melbourne Super League match, Captain Fawad Ahmed led his team to victory. The trend of winning tosses and matches continued as Fawad making another right call by winning another toss, opting to bat first under the sunny skies. Weather was hot so was the bat of Shakeel and Khalid Hassan after smashing the opposition all around the ground. Shakeel Ahmed blazed his way to 83 runs off just 34 balls, maintaining his impeccable form from the previous games, joined by a quick fire 50 from Khalid.

Setting a formidable target of 271, the team showcased their depth as Fawad Malook stepped up to seal the deal with a finishing touch that left the opposition on the ground (litrally).

The bowling attack was unplayable, keeping the opposition at bay with precision and strategy, restricting them to a mere 102 runs.

Debutant Manzoor Bhai made an immediate impact, showcasing his spin bowling skills, scalping three crucial wickets that turned the tide in our favor. However, it was Fawad Malook who stole the show, proving to be unplayable as he claimed four wickets and hammered 40 runs off just 21 balls, earning him the well-deserved title of Man of the Match. We marched to victory as Muhammad Saeed spun one sharply generating a catch to 1st slip where Syed Zafar Ali Shah finally managed to grab his maiden catch of the tournament.

In another great game of Cricket, the Giants secured another comfortable victory, thanks greatly to a batting masterclass from Shakeel and Khalid Hassan. Winning the toss for the third consecutive time, Fawad opted to bat first, setting the stage for a massive total.

In the mammoth total of 241 runs, Shakeel once again showcased his sublime form, notching up another quick-fire fifty at a staggering strike rate of 186.9 making 86runs. Joining him in the onslaught was Khalid Hassan, who smashed the opposition all over the ground with a blistering 78 off just 38 deliveries.

As the we took to the field, Club president Syed Zafar Ali Shah aka bacha leading from the front, on his first ball of the innings reminded everyone of Josh Hazlewood on a quick Waca wicket together with a catch of Cameron Green level by Shakeel in the slips showed the team's brilliance on the field as well. The opposition found it challenging to score of our excellent bowling, managing to score only 127 runs.

A pivotal factor in restricting the opposition was the brilliant fielding display by our young gun Shayan Ahmed. His agility and precision in the field complemented the team's bowling efforts, further cementing the Giants' supremacy.
This victory secured a spot on the top of the ladder for us in the Melbourne Super League

Anwar Syed Hashmi would Shayan be available to run some fielding drills for some of us??

In our 2nd match of the Melbourne Super League , Captain Fawad Ahmed won the toss and opted to bat first. Shakeel and Adnan provided a solid start with a 58-run partnership. Shakeel's quick 30 off 13 balls set the tone. Adnan, joined by Salman, showcased outstanding batting, leaving no room for the opposition bowlers. Adnan's brilliant 106* off 55 balls, featuring 15 boundaries and 4 massive sixes, and Salman's impressive 113* off 54 balls, including six sixes and thirteen fours, powered their team to a formidable total of 270.

The target proved insurmountable for the opposition as Melbourne Giants bowlers took regular wickets. Zafar took a wicket in each of his first 3 overs setting a tone for a convincing win but Khalid Hassan stood out, claiming 3 wickets in his 3 overs. Young talent Shayaan Ahmed also made an impact, bowling economically and securing his first wicket of the tournament.

Saeed's brilliance was on full display as he took a stunning catch, showcasing exceptional fielding skills. The comprehensive team effort made sure our 2nd win of as many games. 👏

The Giants kicked off the MSL league in style, securing a remarkable victory in our opening match against Reservoir Rangers CC. Our team delivered an outstanding performance in both batting and bowling, leading to a convincing win against an opposition considered to be one of the best in the tournament.

Opting to bat after winning the toss, Adnan Khawaja opened the proceedings with his signature cut short for four on the first ball. While Adnan, aka ACE, showcased his prowess by delivering Aces, Big Shak was gearing up for a substantial innings. Adnan's attempt to reach his 50 in style resulted in an aerial shot, concluding his innings and the opening partnership at 95.

However, Big Shak continued to dominate, scoring boundaries across the ground. Fazal Nawab and MG's keeper made minimal contributions. Khalid, MG's big hitter, joined Shakeel, adding a brisk 62-run partnership before Khalid was bowled for 21. All-rounder Fawad Malook joined Shakeel, hitting his first ball for a stylish cover drive.

Shakeel reached his century in the last over, featuring 7 sixes and 6 fours. Fawad Malook's quick 37 off 13 balls further boosted the total. In Reservoir Rangers CC's innings, our strong bowling attack, led by M. Saeed, took its toll. Despite some dropped catches due to poor fielding, the total proved insurmountable for Reservoirs, with M. Saeed, Fawad Malook, and Fawad Ahmed showcasing their experience and ensuring an easy win.

Shakeel was awarded with Man of the match for his outstanding 100notout.
