Essendon Baseball Club invites new, current, and past players to our upcoming Women's Baseball Come & Try Days on Wednesday 23 September and Wednesday 30 October 2026, 6-8pm. Girls 13+ and women of all ages are welcome!

Baseball is an awesome summer sport for women and girls looking to compete in a fun, safe, and supportive environment. Led by our Women's Head Coach, Abbey Kelly, our program supports all levels of baseball from beginner to advanced.

Our Come & Try Days will give you the opportunity to try hitting, fielding, and pitching. We'll be using EBC's new training facilities and you can meet the squad!

🚨 BIG ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨

Essendon Baseball Club is thrilled to announce Abbey Kelly as Head Coach of our Women's Program for Summer 2026/27!

Abbey brings 15 years of playing experience to the role, having represented Westgarth, Melbourne Uni, Essendon, Victoria and Australia at the highest levels of the game.

Abbey has been the Women's Head Coach at Melbourne Uni for 9 years, and both UMBC women's teams competing in the MWBL Grand Final this weekend.

A proven competitor on the diamond, Abbey's resume speaks for itself:
❤️ 4x Australian Emerald representative
🖤 11x Victorian representative
❤️ 3x National Women's Champion
🖤 Golden Glove and MVP honours across multiple tournaments
❤️ 5x VSBL Women's Division 1 MVP
🖤 All-around lovely person (if we may say so ourselves)

Abbey has been a committed player and leader at EBC for 15 years, and we're excited to see Abbey take on this role.

A true student of the game with a genuine love for baseball, Abbey's experience, leadership and competitive drive make her the perfect person to lead our Women's Program into its next chapter.

Special shout out and well done to our Winter U17 Div 1 Juniors who played in the Grand Final against GMBC. They put up a good fight but GMBC proved too strong on the day (1-5). Big thanks to Coaches Nathaniel and Uros ❤️🖤.

Yesterday saw the Melbourne Winter Baseball League B Grade game between Essendon and Alfredton Baseball Club recognised as the inaugural clash for the Mitch Miller Cup.

This game will become a fixture on our baseball calendar and is held to remember and honour Mitch, a player at both Essendon and Alfredton, who sadly passed away earlier this year.

Saturday’s game commenced with a minutes silence and was a closely fought battle with Essendon eventually coming away winners (4-2).

Mitch’s family supported from the sidelines with Dad, Lee coaching first base. At the conclusion of the game, Lee and Mitch’s Mum, Lynda presented the trophy to Coach Jarrod Belbin.

Baseball Victoria is pleased to open registrations for our U18 AYC and Taiwan teams, as well as our U16 AYC team. 👏⚾

Tryouts will begin at the end of August for both the U16 and U18 teams and continue into September. 🤝
