As many of you know, my husband and I have relocated to Melbourne from Sydney. It's just us and our very needy Border Collie, Kozzie Koo. This move has made me think: how many of us are rebuilding our lives, getting used to empty nesting, going through menopause, eating well, exercising, finding hobbies, or figuring out what to wear and how to live a happy, well-balanced life? I am going to use my Personal Training page to share what I'm doing to get through the above, plus whatever life throws our way in the coming months and years. I am and always have been a stay-at-home mum, I've been a wife for 29 years, a mum for 29 years, and a dog mum for 20 years. I don’t think I've ever done anything just for me; I wonder how many people can relate to that. Now, as I sit in a rental house in East Melbourne surrounded by all my stuff - think four-bedroom house squeezed into a two-bedroom house - I am having time to ponder. So far, I am walking, creating, cooking, shopping (money depending...). I am me, and I am still a PT (luckily, some of my Sydney clients have stayed with me, and we get to meet up online every week). It's been wonderful seeing them, training, chatting, and they've certainly kept me sane (apparently, I watch too many exercise videos and come up with different exercises every week). As from tomorrow, I will share with you how I am navigating life here in Melbourne, away from my kids (they are all still around the Shire, living, working, and enjoying their lives). They aren’t kids… 28, 25 and 20.
