Meet Ebony Brunt 🏒

From learning to skate in Canberra to representing Australia on the world stage, Ebony Brunt’s love for hockey started young and has taken her across the globe.

Ebony first picked up a stick in 2009 at just five years old, growing up surrounded by the game thanks to her dad, who played hockey himself and passed that passion on to both her and her brother.

Over the years, that family spark turned into something special. Ebony has represented Australia multiple times, playing in the U18 Women’s World Championships in 2019, 2020, and 2022, and most recently being selected for the National Women’s Team (NWT) in 2025.

A highlight of her journey came in 2020, when she competed at the Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne, Switzerland, a milestone few young athletes experience.

At the club level, Ebony has been a key part of the Sydney Sirens since 2018, playing across seven AWIHL seasons (2018–2026) while continuing to represent her home territory of ACT in national and local tournaments.

From the backyard rinks of Canberra to international competition, Ebony’s journey shows what’s possible when passion runs in the family and when love for the game never fades.
