Are you a ‘gym hopper’? 🏋️♀️
Here are 3 tips to help you achieve lifelong results!
Do you ever catch yourself jumping from one gym to another, trying out different trainers and learning resources, purchasing the same information over and over again seeking that elusive 'missing link'? It's like tossing spaghetti at a wall and hoping something sticks.
But the true missing piece might be a lot easier to find if we scratch the surface a little deeper. And that is, ‘taking action’.
If you’re harvesting limiting beliefs, then simply stop limiting yourself.
If you’re tired of failing, then simply stop giving up.
Life isn't about quick fixes. Once you grasp and accept this, the genuine journey to fulfillment begins. At its core, it's a simple message: exercise consistently, eat well, stay hydrated, get quality sleep, and work on self-improvement.
The point is to act because hovering on the sidelines won't get you anywhere. Fear of failure is robbing you of your growth potential.
After two decades and over 100,000 hours spent on gym floors, witnessing why most folks never conquer their goals, here's my advce:
1. Work on Self-Development (Internal) 🌱
Dive into enhancing your emotional intelligence and addressing your insecurities. Working hard is admirable, but if you're insecure, you're vulnerable. When obstacles arise (and trust me, they always do), your insecurity can thwart progress. Strengthen your confidence and discipline by absorbing knowledge from books and online resources.
2. Cultivate Your Environment (External) 🏠
Once you've begun the journey of building your internal foundations, it's time to tackle external factors. Begin by tidying up your surroundings—your home, your car, your cupboards. Then, focus on your relationships and your circle of influence. Surround yourself with people who genuinely have your back and support your endeavors wholeheartedly. Once this safe space is established, consider enlisting a coach. You'll be more receptive to their guidance and open to constructive feedback, making adherence to a program easier.
3. Make a Decision and Commit 🚀
According to the Transtheoretical Model of Behavior Change, there are six stages: Pre-contemplation, Contemplation, Preparation, Action, Maintenance, and Lapse/Relapse/Termination. While you can delve into this model further on your own, for our conversation's sake, the pivotal stage is Action. There's never a "perfect time" in life. In retrospect, you'll either wish you'd left something sooner or feel you overstayed your welcome. Life is a constant juxtaposition of contrasts. The only solace lies in seizing the moment, making the best-informed decision right when that spark of an idea ignites. Take action!
Remember, your fitness journey isn't just about the weights or the treadmills—it's about personal growth, resilience, and consistent commitment.
