Final Seniors weekend results! 🚨🏏
Better (very) late than never!
C Grade rounded out the season with a comprehensive, if not slightly nervy for a moment, win over Colts at Hay Park. Sent in to bat early inroads were made and the pressure never let up as Colts were all out for 54. Lochy (3/14) and Jake (2/20) were the chief destroyers up top before Dec took care of business with 4/10 off 8 overs! In reply, things couldn’t have got off to a worse start. Captain Scott who normally tales first ball was hiding in the sheds so it was left to Jack, who quickly returned to the (outdoor) changing rooms with a golden duck under his arm. At 3/15 things were a little precarious, however Tom and Dec saw us most of the way home with 22* and 15 respectively. Finishing with 9 wins and 9 loses, finishing 5 on the ladder, it was a phenomenal year and we made incredible progress over years past. A real credit to all those whole played and the culture surrounding the team.
In E grade, despite still falling to defeat, the season definitely still ended on a high note. Hosting ladder leaders Leschenault, who were 17-0 for the season, E grade pushed them all the way. At 6/105 and 7/126, we had the visitors on the ropes. However a couple dropped catches allowed them to finish 7/174. Ben Cooper the pick of the bowlers with 3/24. In reply we were in control at 4/135, and a massive upset on the cards. But it wasn’t to be, eventually falling 27 runs short. Ben leading the way with 46, 38 from Harry and handy knocks of 19 and 18 from Matty Novak and Cole.
On the whole a tough year, but some really positive performances here and there. But the kay take away is how the whole team stuck together and hand a lot of fun the entire season.
