🏐💙🧡 A NEW CHAPTER FOR CASEY DISTRICTS — WE’D LOVE YOU TO BE PART OF IT! 🧡💙🏐
2027 is going to be a pretty special year for Casey Districts Netball Club.
🎉 We’re celebrating 30 YEARS of netball in our community
📈 Our club has doubled in size over the past few years
💙 This October we’ll be welcoming a new Executive Committee to help lead Casey Districts into its next chapter.
For the first time in a number of years, ALL Executive Committee positions will be vacant at our upcoming AGM:
🧡 President
🧡 Vice President
🧡 Secretary
🧡 Treasurer
Our current Executive members are each stepping away for different life reasons — growing families, children growing up and moving on, distance and personal commitments — they do so incredibly proud of what has been built over the past few years and with a huge amount of love for the club.
💙 A GREAT FOUNDATION TO STEP INTO
One of the things our current Executive and broader General Committee have been incredibly focused on is making sure Casey Districts is well organised, well managed and set up for the future.
Over the past few years, a huge amount of work has gone on behind the scenes to establish robust processes, systems and practices across the club — from record keeping and financial management through to registrations, uniforms, stock control, team administration and the many other things that keep a growing netball club running.
That work means the people stepping into these roles will inherit established systems, documented processes and a strong foundation to work from rather than having to reinvent the wheel.
Just as importantly, the current committee won’t simply disappear after the AGM. They’ll be available to share their knowledge, support the transition and help the new team find their feet.
We want the next committee to be able to step in feeling supported, prepared and excited about what comes next.
🏐 SO… WHAT DOES BEING ON THE COMMITTEE ACTUALLY INVOLVE?
It’s definitely not about one person doing everything. A great committee shares the load, plays to people’s strengths and works as a team.
🏐 PRESIDENT
Provides overall leadership and direction for the club, chairs committee meetings, supports the broader committee and helps keep everyone working towards the same goals. The President is also an important connection point between the club, our association, members and wider community.
🏐 VICE PRESIDENT
Works alongside and supports the President, helps coordinate club activities and steps in where needed. A great role for someone who enjoys organising, problem-solving, working with people and helping turn ideas into action.
🏐 SECRETARY
Helps keep the club organised — coordinating correspondence, meeting agendas and minutes, maintaining records and making sure important information gets to the right people.
🏐 TREASURER
Looks after the club’s finances, including fees, payments, banking, budgets, invoices and financial records, with established systems and processes already in place to support the role.
⏰ AND WHAT ABOUT THE TIME COMMITMENT?
We want people to have a realistic idea of what’s involved.
There are naturally busier periods during the year, particularly in the lead-up to and beginning of each season when registrations, fees, grading, team formation and player allocations all need to come together.
There’s also a little more activity around special events and presentation periods — and of course 2027 will bring some extra fun as we celebrate our 30th anniversary! 🎉
Outside of those peak periods, things generally settle into a much more manageable rhythm.
The committee meets at various intervals throughout the year — generally every few months, with additional catch-ups where something needs attention. Delegates meetings with the association. Then perhaps most importantly, the more good people we have involved, the more we can share the load.
🧡 NOT READY FOR AN EXECUTIVE ROLE? WE NEED YOU TOO!
Our General Committee is an important part of making the club work and there are lots of ways to contribute:
👗 Uniforms and stock
🏆 Presentations
🎉 Events and our 30th anniversary celebration
🙋♀️ Volunteers
📣 Communications and social media
🤝 Sponsorship and fundraising
💡 New ideas and club initiatives
🏐 Or simply lending a hand when something needs doing
There is room for people who want to do a lot and room for people who can only do a little. It all matters.
💙 YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A CURRENT NETBALL PARENT
We’d love to hear from current or former parents, past players, grandparents, community members, local business people or anyone with skills, ideas and some time they’d like to contribute to a thriving community sporting club.
You don’t need previous committee experience.
You don’t need to know everything about netball.
And you certainly won’t be expected to figure it all out on your own.
What we really need are good people who care about community, are willing to contribute and enjoy working as part of a team.
Casey Districts has been part of our community since 1997.
Next year, we get to celebrate 30 years of Casey Districts Netball Club — while also welcoming the people who will help shape its next chapter.
What a brilliant year to get involved. 🥳🏐
💙🧡 Our AGM will be held on Thursday 8th October — with more details coming soon.
If you’re even a little curious about an Executive or General Committee role, we’d genuinely love to hear from you.
An Expression of Interest is simply that — a chance to have a conversation, ask questions, understand what’s involved and see whether there might be a place for you. No obligation.

Our next President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer or brilliant committee member might already be part of Casey Districts — or they might be someone in the wider community who hasn’t met us yet.
💙🧡 30 years. A growing club. A strong foundation. A fresh team. A new chapter.
Come and be part of what happens next. 🏐
