This time last year we were all enjoying our new gis and playing around in the gym. Today we are all evacuated or waiting to defend our properties as the massive bushfires in the Upper Murray roll towards our town and gym. Sending all our best wishes and hopes to our friends and homes today. Hopefully we still have a gym tomorrow.

A very special day for our whole team as Matthew Targett was graded to blue belt. Usually a grading is just hard work for the student but with Matt being such a monster and us only having a small team, we all were on our toes trying to ensure he stayed tired.

Thank you Emmatt Hammersley, Han Wahjudi and Matt.we are so lucky to have such a close knit team in our tiny town.

A really big privilege to have Brazilian Jiu Jitsu two stripe black belt Hugh Ridgway training us at the Corryong Combat Club today. Hugh trains out of one of Australia's most competitive gyms, Absolute MMA in Melbourne and was quickly able to add so many skills to each of our students. We are so lucky to have access to such a good space and club right here in town. Thank you Rotary and Matthew Targett for all the funding and support.

A visit from travelling purple belt Kevin Lau was a huge highlight this week. Kevin trains out of Absolute MMA in Melbourne. Having Kevin put our fighters through their paces while practising their attacks on a defensive opponent was awesome.
