Chairpersonโs Message โ Round Six
Dear Clubs, Volunteers, and Members of the Group 9 Junior Rugby League,
Rounds 4 and 5 have continued to showcase the strength of our competition, with great participation, sportsmanship, and effort displayed across all grounds. It has been terrific to see our players enjoying their footy, developing their skills, and representing their clubs with pride.
We have also been very fortunate with the weather so far this season. The conditions have certainly been kind to us, allowing games to be played consistently and ensuring a great experience for our players, officials, and spectators each weekend. We have also seen some great cooperation between clubs trying to ensure competitive matches are getting played, even if they arenโt within the scheduled Saturday.
This week is also the last week of TAG for our under 7s! In Round 7 they start tackling during their Saturday games after working through their โtackle readyโ program.
I would again like to thank all clubs, volunteers, and hosting teams for the ongoing work that goes into each round. From setting up grounds to fulfilling game day roles, your effort behind the scenes is what allows our competition to run smoothly and safely.
As we move deeper into the season, a few important reminders remain in place:
โข Please ensure all required game-day roles are in place prior to kick-off, including a Ground Manager, First Aider, and League Safe Officer. Please ensure sideline officials are clearly identifiable, including the use of appropriate vests.
โข The League Safe Officer must not be the coach or assistant coach, as this role must remain independent and focused on player welfare.
โข Clubs must continue to follow age group rules and player numbers on the field, particularly in younger grades, to maintain safety and enjoyment.
These requirements are vital in protecting our players and supporting the safe delivery of our games, and your continued cooperation is appreciated.
As always, I would like to remind everyone players, coaches, parents, and spectators to continue showing respect to our referees and volunteers. They are an essential part of our competition, and without their commitment, our game simply could not operate.
Thank you again for your ongoing support of Group 9 Junior Rugby League. I wish all teams the very best for the coming rounds and look forward to another strong weekend of junior rugby league.
Kind Regards,
Pat OโToole
