Australian Yongmudo Association Inc

Australian Yongmudo Association Inc Yongmudo is a self-defense & martial arts system based on traditional Korean martial arts skill.

Since its inception in 1953, Yong-In University (formerly Korean Judo College), has been a mecca for martial arts and sports education. The university's founding philosophy was to train its students to serve society. According to this philosophy, martial arts education is necessary to train the mind, body, and soul in order to help people become well-educated and capable of contributing to society

. The university has taught judo, taekwondo, gumdo, hapkido, Ssirum, wrestling, boxing, self-defense, arrest tactics, and many other martial arts since its inception. The ultimate goal is for graduates of the school to serve as ambassadors of Yong-In as martial arts educators. Yong-In has promoted martial arts and sports education not only locally but also has encouraged the development of Korean martial arts outside of Korea by sending many graduates overseas to teach in other countries. Yongmudo, a modern art which combines techniques from a number of existing arts, was founded in order to meet the need for further promotion of Korean martial arts by Kim Jung-Haeng, former president of Yong-In University, and professors from the College of Martial Arts.
