CHILDREN’S FESTIVAL 2026 🎪🩷

Yesterday our Junior Performance students danced at the Children's Festival Organisation Inc. at Playford Park, and what a special day it was.

We have been supporting this festival for many years and it is one we hold close to our hearts. It celebrates the many cultures that make up our community and brings families together, which is exactly what our BSD family is all about.

Thank you to Miss Amelia and Miss Sophia for choreographing these routines and to Miss Belinda and Miss Alex for your support on the day.

A very special congratulations to Mariah Nader, recipient of the Children’s Festival Excellence Award. Mariah was recognised for her achievements in dance at competitions both interstate and nationally, as well as for her academic and athletic achievements.

HSC CALLBACK NOMINATION 2026 🩰🩷

We are so proud to share that Sophia has been nominated for HSC Dance Callback across ALL THREE AREAS: Major Study Performance, Core Performance and Core Composition.

Callback is the NSW showcase of exemplary HSC Dance works, so to be recognised in all three is something truly special. It speaks to Sophia’s dedication, discipline and artistry, and to the years of hard work behind it.

Sophia, we are so incredibly proud of everything you have achieved. Balancing school, countless hours of dance training and mentoring and teaching our younger BSD dancers. Your dedication, maturity and work ethic are an inspiration to everyone around you.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY 💙👔

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, grandads, uncles and male role models who support our dancers every step of the way. Your encouragement, lifts, backstage help and unwavering cheer mean the world to our studio family. 🤍

Today we also honour the biggest dance dad of them all, Lawrie Kirkness. Husband to Miss Margaret, father to Miss Belinda and “Poppy” to Miss Tahlia, Miss Amelia and Miss Arielle, Lawrie paved the way for so many BSD dance dads and continues to inspire us with the love he gave his family and our studio.

We remember him with love, and thank every father figure in our community for shaping our dancers’ journeys. 🫶🏻

Our Kindy & Year 1 Homeschool Dance Class is now taking Expressions of Interest for Term 4, with classes running every Monday from 10am to 11am!

Our Year 2 to Year 5 Homeschool class is already running every Monday from 1pm–2pm, with spaces still available!

NATIONAL CHAMPION 🏆

We are bursting with pride for our incredible Clara, who took out first place in the Sub Junior Hip Hop National Championships in Brisbane this month!

At just 10 years old and the youngest in her age group, Clara brought pure energy, enthusiasm and confidence to the stage, and it showed.

A special thank you to Miss Amelia for choreographing Clara’s winning routine and for her wonderful support throughout Nationals.
