Keep On

Keep On The 'Keep On' movement embodies exercise, mental health and as integral to the healing process for young women with Breast Cancer.

On April 23rd 2017, Stacey and Chris Price will be running the London Marathon in support of Against Breast Cancer, a charitable organization based in the UK funding research to improve detection & increase survival after diagnosis. Why is this important to us? In October 2016, our world was turned upside down when Stacey was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer. In the roller coaster that followe

d the diagnosis we have been through a successful partial mastectomy & sentinel node biopsy, a Hail Mary fertility preservation treatment and are set to begin down the long path of adjuvant treatment beginning early 2017. Why the Marathon? Because we have always wanted to run London and why the hell not!? The goal is to make the start line happy and as healthy as possible. Stacey has 7 marathons to her name and with Pricey’s ultra-marathon pedigree we know mentally we can cross the line but physically will be the challenge. Training through treatment we know that a lot of days will be better than others. String enough good days together over a 3 month period and well, you never know, we might just be able to smash out a 42.2 km race in one of the world’s most amazing cities. Running has always been something we are both very passionate about, and our approach is that we are not going to let this diagnosis and treatment take away the lifestyle and goals that are so important to us. We hope that by training, running and completing the London Marathon, one of the World Marathon Majors, during our most challenging moment in life will inspire and motivate others. We want to create a realization when facing adversity that you don’t have to give up, anything is possible with the right attitude and support. What is Keep On and ? This diagnosis for us serves as a gentle (or really fu***ng hard) reminder that life isn’t always easy, you don’t always get what you want, and there are constant challenges out of your control. However when you do have control, you need to make the most of your opportunities and choose to live the life that you want to live. The London Marathon has been a lifelong goal for us and we are proud to be part of the Against Breast Cancer team and representing a charity that is close to us. Any monies over $7k we are donating to Against Breast Cancer will be donated to the BC Cancer Foundation. We will be running a series of fundraising events over on our page so please get involved and help us achieve this dream. Get ready to party, run, spin & laugh! https://www.gofundme.com/keepon-london2017

I had the honour of emcee-ing an event at BC Cancer & hearing Dr. Krystal speak first hand on this topic and his findings. I’ve never taken so many notes!

We hear so much online about nutrition & cancer; what to do/not to do. What I love is this from an eminent Canadian Doctor & distinguished scientist backed by a ton of science 🔬 🤓 🌱

Only time will tell, but every day I'm thankful that the test is covered in British Columbia and that my Oncologist suggested we do it. Just like the study, I fell squarely into the intermediate score range (although younger) and we had to make the decision - Chemo or no Chemo? We decided against Chemo and continue with 32 rounds of Radiation and a more aggressive Hormone Therapy treatment for 5 years. I never regret that decision and look forward to more studies that hopefully show that I too will be in that .

Most women in the early stages of one of the most common forms of breast cancer can safely skip chemotherapy if genetic tests reveal their risk for cancer recurrence is low, results from a new study reveal.

Yes! 💯 x yes! I can’t speak enough to the physical & mental support exercising during my treatment did for my body, recovery time, self-esteem and anxiety. I love that that the 🇦🇺 oncology community is getting on board, now time for 🇨🇦 ♥️

Cancer patients who exercise experience milder side effects from treatment, have a lower risk of cancer recurrence, and a lower risk of dying. So why don’t more doctors suggest their patients exercise? That’s what a group of cancer specialists in Australia wants to know.

Fitnessing for a cause | Day 4 of Workout to Conquer Cancer & a quick little run before we head off to the airport.

This trip has been filled with highs / lows & lots of family time. We’ve spent the past few weeks in and out of hospital while we struggle with the reality of Chris’s Dads throat cancer treatment.

We are so lucky to have spent some serious fam time with him our first 2 weeks in 🇦🇺 - take a moment today, walk/run/bike/downward dog (because fitness, friends!) & hug your parents because cancer &$@ # sucks.

Please consider dontating your time or 💵 to BC Cancer Foundation this month ♥️ // link below (we like to make things easy for you 😊)

Today’s 💉 marks 1 year since I started my 5 years of adjuvant (post) treatment for Breast Cancer 💪🏽

1+ years since Diagnosis (Sept 2016)
1 year post partial mastectomy & radiation treatment
12 hormone injections
365 days of meds
1 colonoscopy
Many mammograms & ultrasounds
Countless follow ups
1 London Marathon 😉
And currently, hopefully, free of Cancer

The past year & the next 4 come with their own set of struggles & side effects but I’m lucky I’ve got the best people who still support me every day (😘 Pricey).
Here’s to another 365 days ❤️
