The dust has settled on a busy weekend. So let's have a little recap.

ARC racing attended two speedway presentations on Saturday.

KJB Junior Sedan Challenge was first up, were we celebrated the first ever Junior Sedan Challenge, a fantastic innovative created by Kyle and Ricky-Leigh, which saw us racing as far south as Esperance and as far north as Carnarvon over the last 6 months. Axel raced in 7 out of the 10 rounds, improving each time. The series was come to a very tight finish, where Axel was lucky enough to win maximum points in Carnavon, which resulted in him claiming 1st place for the 2025/26 Challenge.
Saturday night, we attended the Collie Speedway season presentations. We were extremely proud when Axel was awarded the Colin Spicer Award for Ouststanding Junior Sportsmanship. As a family we have always installed that you give back to your club in some capacity. It is not always all about what happens on the track, its helping out wherever you can, its about showing good sportsmanship and respect to those that are around you.

Well done to all of the Junior drivers that took out awards over the weekend.

The last six months, we have loved watching Axel grow in a sport that we have been involved in for so long. He has already made friends for life and so many memories

Things quieten down for a bit now, we will travel up to Ellenbrook over the winter. Also spending a bit of time in the shed, freshening up Dazza a bit

Thank you to all of our sponsors that have helped Axel in his first year of racing, we couldn't have done it without you.

Ellenbrook
We headed north for some racing today. Big boy (and mum and dad) learnt a lot from today...

First time racing at Ellenbrook and it was a struggle to be honest. Certainly pushed to our limits this week and exhaustion set in a bit..

Axel finished the day with a 6th and a 5th in his heats. Axel started out of 12th for the feature, unfortunately only getting through a few laps before pulling in.

We still head home with a straight car, ready to head back up to continue the winter season in two weeks.

What an effort by all the drivers in the series. It is great to see all the kids and parents supporting each other.

Super proud of Axel, took on this challenge in his first 6 months of racing. Consistently turning up at the tracks each time.

Thank you to Kyle & Rikky-Leigh KJB Industries for putting on an amazing series. Your commitment to the Junior drivers in WA is amazing.

Shoutout to everyone that helps out with the car each week.

Rob - tow vehicle/crew chief for the big trip this weekend xx

Special thanks to Darren, hopefully the work roster matches up soon so you can hit the road with us!!

Thanks to our amazing sponsors

Axel had a good 2 nights racing at 2 tracks he's never raced before. Even with a little oopsie in the feature last night he managed to hold on to claim the weekends honours.

Sitting here waiting for night two, we have time for a recap

Night One
Carnavon
What a night! Axel rocked up, having not driven the track before. A couple of hot laps before qualifying helped him with his confidence, finished fastest qualifer.
Heat 1 - started off pole and finished 1st. His first ever heat win!!! Mum's in tears already ๐Ÿซฃ

Heat 2 - reverse grid so started from the rear. A nice test, but Axel had the car on rails and he moved his way through to finish 1st again!!!

Feature - Despite qualifying 1st, an inverted top 4 saw Axel start out of 4th. His confidence was high and he had a great battle with Kaitlyn for 1st place. Axel certainly liked the high line (not helping mums nerves), kissing the wall a few times ๐Ÿ™„. Axel found himself in the lead just before a restart, but it didn't take long for Kaitlyn to take it back. Two laps to go and Axel decided to try the inside line, oops ... spun himself out. Whilst we were happy for a 2nd place finish, he wasn't... he sorted himself out on his own to avoid a restart and the chase was on. Two laps to go and now the crowd were involved, loving the battle between the top two. The final corner Axel threw it all in for one last lunge around the outside and it was a drag to the finish, were he claimed his first feature win by 0.071 seconds!!!

Plenty of screaming from the pitts and also turn 1/2 (Rob). It was hugs all round.

Now that excitement has worn off (well kind of), we turn our attention to night 2 at Shark Bay Speedway.

Thanks to everyone that sent messages, it certainly made Axel's night.

Kev has some videos to post once in better reception
