This year will be the 15th Annual Collaroy Young Guns Event which this year coincides with the 1st of 4 Ocean Thunder events being held on Saturday 8th January 2021 @ Dee Why Beach. Why not head down to Dee Why Beach to support the Open Mens & Women's crews in their quest to claim their part of the $40k prizemoney for the series.

Hi All re :
Young Guns next Sunday.
I have had quite a few questions regarding,
MIXED CREWS
The rules.
-Champion events you can not have composite crews.
-Non Champion events like local carnivals it is up to the Referee and the carnival organisers of each branch carnival.
Young Guns is a local carnival:
*The crew would have to row in the men's division if men are in the crew.
*The crew would have to be the same age division. E.g all U19.
*The rowers can only be entered and row in 1 division for that carnival unless a sweep.
*They would row the RR (round robin heats) and recieve no points.
BUT you can,
HAVE LOTS OF FUN, LAUGHTER AND the JOY of rowing.
AS WELL AS THE
EXPERIENCE OF CARNIVAL RACING..
SO
to answer the question,
GREG HEARD, the referee has said
YES,
to composite crews!!.....

Collaroy Young Guns Update
Crew check ins from 7am
Sweeps meeting at 7:45am
Guns up at 8am
Planning to be completed by 3pm
We are trying to accommodate all requests for latest start times in certain divisions and will do our best with these.
With the aim of the day being participation of as many young rowers as possible we are allowing rowers from other clubs to compete in crews. However they must still be entered into the carnival. If you have a rower from a higher division you will not be given points or be able to row in the final.
