After a week off, the girls were ready to get back out there against Frankston on saturday morning.
From the first bounce to the final siren, the team did not give up.
They created some great passages of play, and their pressure was absolute fire.
The back line was very busy the whole game but never stopped attacking the ball, working hard to get the ball out.
Mids have been working on some structual plays out the centre into our forward line, but unfortunately, we couldn’t score on the board

The girls are new to each other, and a lot have never played, but there is no doubt they are starting to really gel together, and the more we get out there, the better it becomes.

Being a division 2 side in division 1 is a huge challenge, but the great thing about this team is that they never stop fighting. They never give up!!

Unfortunately we didn’t get the points this round but definitely some positives to take out of the game and to our supporters, we will be making some changes this week to make sure we get the best out of our side from week to week.

We are excited to announce Andy Cashill as the Assistant Coach for our Senior Woman’s team.

Andy brings a wide range of knowledge when it comes to football. He has great explanation and patience when coaching alongside Brookey.

Why did you get into coaching?
- Originally I got into coaching because my wife was interested in playing watching her play a sport I've spent so much of my life following/playing means I had to help out on the side doing some skills work. Coming over to Clyde this year and starting a team from scratch with Brookesy has been exciting.. getting to help the girls improve their skills and see new players come through and develop a love for the game is awesome. We have such an amazing group of women here who are keen to learn and have a laugh.

What excites you for this new season?
- Development, we've done so much of it already through preseason and a couple of grading games. The improvement so far is outstanding, and we're getting better every week. I'm keen for many more laughs and cold mornings!

The girls took the field today against Clayton, knowing it would be a tough game against a well-established team.

From the first bounce, the cougar girls were determined to keep working on their link-ups, moving the ball forward and defence.

Clayton came out as fierce as always with a strong game plan - building a wall across their half forward line, making it very hard for the cougar girls to break past it. But that didn't discourage them to keep fighting and fighting for the whole 4 quarters.

Some of the girls tried out some new positions and found where they would be calling home this season.
These girls put their bodies on the line today - fought so hard with 2nd and 3rd efforts. Even when they were knocked down and beaten to the ball, they didn't give up.

The girls have adapted to the game structure we are trying to build and are really starting to understand each other as a team.

We are super proud of what has been happening so far and can't wait to see the season unfold.
