Recap of our South Coast Championships and Australian National Team qualifiers campaign.

A number of our black belts plus Sydney Uni team completed at the South Coast Championships. Kyorugi team was small since most of our experienced players were being rested having done a few big comps already this year. The ones who competed did well but the focus for us was attending South Coast as a warm up for Australian National Team Selections.

Our team performed strongly at the Australian National Team selections with .wdjaya from .tkd , and myself (ZiChuan) qualifying for the Poomsae World Championships in Chuncheon later this year, Emma and Yena made it to the finals both just missing out on a place in the team and Ashleigh showing great last minute improvement to come 9th in her division.

A huge thank you to the powerhouse Poomsae Instructor team that has been working with Chungdo TKD/Sydney Uni over the last 2 years plus of course my Master GM Shin and Master Yujin Kang for training me over many years.

Congratulations to our team who competed in last weekend's Australian National Team Selections for the Oceania Championships and Junior World Championships. It was a great weekend with a lot of good fights and good experience for our team.

We took a team of 13 players and ended with
(Youth) 2x bronze 🥉
(Cadet) 1x gold 🥇 1 bronze🥉 both qualified for National Team at Oceania Championships
(Junior) 1x silver 🥈 qualified for National Team at Oceania Championships
(Senior) 1x bronze🥉

A huge thank you to our kyorugi team coaches for their hard work, , .tkd , , the referees and volunteers for the well organised event and great opportunity

Congratulations to Ellen from our Sydney University Taekwondo and Chungdo TKD team for being awarded a University Blue for her local and international competition accoutrements in 2025 💙

University Blues are the top sporting award granted to student-athletes who have competed at the highest level in their sport while representing the University.

Ellen joins usyd TKD members Richard and Sam as the third Blues recipient since we've been involved (again) with Sydney Uni Taekwondo

Thank you to for visiting and using our dojang as a base during your training holiday in Sydney!

Lin flew an the way from Singapore to train with 2022 Poomsae World Championship Freestyle silver medalist and Chungdo instructor in preparation for Singapore's National Team Selection comp early next year.

We hope she makes the team and look forward to seeing her again soon!
