This isn’t your average campdraft…
From all corners of Queensland and the Northern Territory, from down south to Toowoomba and beyond, these teams came together for something far bigger than just competition.
This video might be of the presentations… but it captures so much more. The laughs between sponsors and kids. A proud mum wrapping her arms around her daughter. Teammates, families and schools all sharing in the moment.
Because what makes this event special isn’t just what happens in the arena, it’s the care behind it.
The little things you don’t see at just any draft… flowers in jars, a beautifully set presentation area, prizes across every division, round placings, cutout winners, team drafts, right down to a biscuit for every competitor on the way out.
And behind it all, it’s not just punching in numbers and having a winner spit out.
It’s specially built Excel sheets, not by professionals, but by volunteers, mums and dads, working out averages, cross-checking results and putting in the hours to make sure every school, big or small, gets a fair and even playing field.
It’s those same parents working the yards or the office, missing runs of their own kids, only catching a glimpse as they come around that second peg.
And in between it all… kids stepping up. Jumping in to help without being asked. Picking up rubbish, lending a hand, doing their bit.
In a time where people often worry about the next generation… weekends like this remind you there’s a whole lot to be proud of. That good kids still exist. That respect, work ethic and community are alive and well.
That’s what this really is.
Not just a campdraft. Not just a weekend.
Something built on pride, effort and a whole lot of love, and something that leaves you with a bit of hope for the future 🤍🏆
