💚🖤CHOUGHS, IT’S GRAND FINAL TIME! 🖤💚

Choughs, our incredible Women’s B team have made it to the BIG DANCE — the Grand Final! 🏆

As a club, we couldn’t be prouder of everything this team has achieved this season. From their performances on the field to the way they have embraced and demonstrated our Choughs values of inclusivity, teamwork, respect and sportsmanship, they have given us plenty to celebrate.

Now it’s time for all of us to get behind them! 🙌

We’d love to see as many Choughies as possible down at the game on Sunday to cheer, shout and support the team. We have an allocated spectator area with a great view of the action — and, most importantly, we’ll be close enough for the team to see you, hear you and feel the Choughs support! 📣

Okay people… GET EXCITED! 💚🖤🤍💚

For our second year, we’re celebrating an incredible achievement — one of our teams has made it to the finals! 🙌

Our Women’s B team are heading into the Preliminary Final after an outstanding season that saw them finish TOP OF THE LADDER as MINOR PREMIERS! 🏆

This is a huge achievement and a true reflection of how much this team has grown, developed and strengthened throughout the season. They’ve put in the work, backed each other and shown what Team Castlemaine is all about. 💪

Now they need YOU! 📣

What a phenomenal first competitive season for our Team Castlemaine Choughs U12 hockey squad! After graduating from Hookin2Hockey last year, these legends stepped up to the half-field pitch in 2026 with incredible determination. Every single player took on the challenge of learning every position on the field, mastering simple strategies, sharpening their stickwork, and even showing promise as budding goalkeepers!

The hard work paid off in May with a spectacular first season win, but the highlights didn’t stop there. To top it off, through amazing teamwork, persistence, and team camaraderie, the Choughs gave the ladder leaders a massive scare in the final game—scoring first and fighting hard in a narrow 1-2 battle against the minor premiers!

Huge congratulations to our U12 Choughs on an unforgettable season of growth and fun! 🎉🦉

Castlemaine Choughs proudly celebrate and honour Indigenous culture all year round through our club uniform, beautifully designed by Aboriginal artists Auntie Ros and Melissa Taylor. We are incredibly grateful to Auntie Ros and Melissa for creating a design that allows us to proudly represent and celebrate Indigenous culture every time we take the field.

This week, we proudly joined Hockey Victoria in recognising Indigenous Round, celebrating the spirit of NAIDOC Week and acknowledging the rich cultures, histories and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

As part of the round, umpires selected one player from each team who best demonstrated the values of respect, teamwork, sportsmanship and positive leadership both on and off the field.

Congratulations to our Indigenous Round award recipients:

🏑 B Women’s: Amalia Rahmani

Congratulations to all of our recipients for embodying the values that make our club such a welcoming and inclusive community.

A heartfelt thank you to Auntie Ros and Melissa Taylor for sharing your talent, culture and creativity with our club through our stunning Indigenous uniform. We’d also like to thank Shauna Martin for designing and creating the Indigenous Round awards presented to our recipients this week.
