Victorian Polocrosse Championships 2026 in Sale this weekend. Casterton represented with 3 teams.
A grade consisted of Ricky Smith GTM up the front, in the 2 shirt was Olivia Berkin and out the back we welcomed back Hamish Carlin. Ricky and Hamish, the dynmaric duo, linking up well and putting the pace on with Olivia in the middle. The rose between the thorns holding up her end of the bargain with some fantastic ball skills and defensive play .
Then Bowes Kelly back up the front, Phoebe Carlin in the middle on her dad’s horse playing strong and a hard number 2, and out the back was Dillan Carlin. Bowes Kelly showing form adding goals on the board for the cats and Dillan playing a tough 3 on big Dan .
Cats A grade played well but were unfortunately beaten in a semi and missed out on the final.
Cats B grade was made up of Brydie Carlin up the front showing her skills throwing goals left, right and the side flicks. Molly Dennis doing a tonne of work in the middle and getting some hard balls with Sarah Carlin out the back once again. The girls had a hard tough competition but held their own with some fantastic passages of play. Second section was Jessica Bowman up the front, Rob Pilmore playing a hard tough comp in the 2 position, and out the back was Holly Wittig.
Cats B won some games but were out scored to make the finals.
Cats D grade was Crocket as a 1 giving it everything throwing some nice goals . Bailey Carlin young gun playing a big horse doing a great job, and out the back was Fiona Wittig showing us how it’s done. Second chukka was Mason Hunter up the front showing us some skills and getting some scores on the board. Hayley Bowman little pocket rocket playing extremely well chasing and getting her own balls and out the back Bec Francis on big Memphis.
Cats D grade made it to the final, but lost to Western Districts, coming runners up in the grade.
