This is a common and disappointing occurrence in recent times but unfortunately this mornings ladies competition is cancelled due to the wet weather and the courts unplayable. Hopefully next week is a better outcome. Stay safe and dry if the weather forecasters are correct.

Unfortunately due to the rain Lake Macquarie Tennis Centre’s courts are unplayable, so all this afternoon’s coaching activities are cancelled. The Hot Shots and Squad students have been placed on leave so fees will carry over to next week. A decision on tonight’s mens competition will be made at 6.00pm

The storms haven’t stopped and the courts are flooded. As a result Lake Macquarie Tennis Centre’s 5-6.30pm Green Stage Hot Shots class is cancelled. All students will be placed on leave.

Due to the storms Lake Macquarie Tennis Centre’s ANZ Junior Hot Shots Orange and Red Stages classes 4-5pm are cancelled. A decision on conducting the Green Stage class 5-6.30pm witbemade at 4.30pm.

The weather gods are not smiling on Lake Macquarie Tennis Centre. Unfortunately the 4 O’Clock ANZ Junior Hot Shots classes are cancelled.
However hoping the 5 O’Clock classes will go ahead. Will keep you posted.

Unfortunately for today’s ladies this morning’s Thursday Ladies Competition is cancelled due to the wet weather. Looking forward to a new competition starting next week. Congratulations to Suzanne Montgomery and Jan Homewood winning the competition by just one point from Judy Mitchell and Karen Wilkinson. It’s a shame the competition was washed out today as a we missed an exciting finish. However Judy and Karen will be chasing revenge in the next competition. Hoping for more sun next week.☀️☀️☀️☀️

Bring on the best two weeks of the year. Looking forward to an exciting 2022 Australian Open. It will be wonderful watching and reading about fantastic tennis and great players and not the Djokovic drama. The game is always bigger than any one player!!! “GO ASH”.
Congratulations Thanasi Kokkinakis on winning his fist ATP title in Adelaide over the weekend. A great win for a wonderful talent. Having battled injury for many years his story is one of perseverance and resilience. A real role model for any aspiring young player.

Congratulations to Lleythan and Cooper Jenkinson for an outstanding performance in the 2022 Newcastle Junior Tournament at District Park over the weekend. Lleythan was the under 14 boys singles champion and teamed with brother Cooper to win the under 14 boys doubles. Lleythan and Cooper are great supporters of Lake Macquarie Tennis Centre and are regularly seen working hard on their game at the centre. We wish Lleythan and Cooper the very best on their tennis journey as they have the commitment and talent to take them a long long way!!!!
