Dedicated to the Stand Up Paddleboarder (SUPer) that paddles regardless of the lack of waves, presence of snow or murkiness of the water! High Country SUP is a Canberra based group, with many of its members having served, or are still serving, in the Australian Armed Services or the Australian Public Service. Members of High Country SUP compete in flat water, ocean and harbour races in NSW and the

ACT; such as the Bing Lee Harbour Series. High Country SUP Team Riders can often be seen training in the ACT on the Molonglo River, Lake Burley Griffin and Lake Ginninderra. In NSW they train out of Rose Bay and on Sydney Harbour. High Country SUP's core values include the promotion of active participation in competitive or recreational Stand Up Paddling by its members, their families and friends in the ACT and NSW. Membership is free and open to all interested in SUP, with free fully equipped try out sessions available by request on Sunday mornings at Molonglo Reach in the ACT. Just send a message to one of the Team Riders (Admins) and let them know you wish to try it!

Clean Sweep by the Aussies this year! YEEW!

TERRENE BLACK WINS MOLOKAI 🏆🇦🇺

Australia's Terrene Black has claimed her third M2O crown by overpowering former champ Sonni Hönscheid on a record-setting day in Hawaii. With conditions in the infamous Ka'iwi Channel (aka the "Channel of Bones") near-perfect, Terrene paddled at another level to win by 20 minutes and set a new record of 4 hours 34 minutes.

Her victory completed an incredible clean sweep of the unlimited divisions for Australia, with James Casey triumphant in the men's SUP race and Harriet Brown and Matt Bevilacqua saluting in the traditional prone paddleboard event. I believe this is the third time the Aussies have swept the event following similar performances in 2013 and 2018 (where Terrene is the only common denominator).

The champ dedicated the race to her old lifeguarding mentor Allan Cook who passed away on the eve of the event -- Allan was one of the first people who encouraged Terrene to get into stand up paddling a decade ago...

Stoked to win my first 2 rounds here in China for the . Round 3 coming up tomorrow at about 1pm local time. Watch my team mates with the highest wave scores today- shred it with first heat in the water at 8am and at about 9.30am. Waves are fun, should be more on tap tomorrow.
