Round 8 saw us travel to Waminda Oval to take on the East Campbelltown Eagles on their home turf.

Our Reserve Grade side went into the match knowing that a win would secure 4th spot on the competition ladder. The boys were eager and motivated, but unfortunately we weren't at our best and couldn't find the consistency needed throughout the game. Despite a determined effort, the match ended in a draw, leaving us disappointed but still with plenty to play for as the season progresses.

In First Grade, the team showed plenty of fight and resilience, battling hard right until the final whistle. There were periods where we matched East Campbelltown across the park, but a few costly errors and missed opportunities proved the difference, with the Eagles eventually coming away with the win.

While the results didn't go our way, there were still plenty of positives to take out of the day. This week at training will be focused on addressing our mistakes, improving our ex*****on, and continuing to build on the areas of our game that need attention.

We now turn our focus to a big home game next Sunday when we take on The Oaks Tigers. We look forward to getting back in front of our home crowd and putting in a strong performance as we continue our push through the second half of the season.

Kenny Koro joins the Southwest Goannas for 2026, bringing valuable experience from Jersey Flegg and NSW Cup level.
Kenny played Ron Massey Cup and Sydney Shield with the Hills Bulls last season and has also represented the Sydney Roosters and Blacktown Workers.
