Good luck to the Peninsula Under 15 side in Townsville.
Great to see plenty of the lads from all clubs that attended our joint Fnq rugby and Blacked out sessions run before the trial make the original selected squad and some past players coached also make their regional rep sides down here too from their schooling opportunities down south

Our Under 16 Fnq Squad on Saturday , won the 2026 NQ Champs .
With one win and a draw over Townsville U16s .
A massive effort from the 21 lads against a large Townsville U16 squad with plenty of reserves .
Tough condition's and plenty of yellow cards .
Lots for our group to learn and improve on in the lead up to our next tournament.

A good day for FNQ Rugby

U16 rep Games today at 12pm and 2.50pm.
A Great group, players were selected from our original training squad, the wider squad and some U15 Development players .
Well done boys from The Blacked Out Coaching group Dwayne, Pegs and Gordo.

Congratulations to the players selected in the FNQ Rugby Union U16 Boys side to take on the Townsville Brolgas this Saturday 🏉

This match will provide a fantastic opportunity for the squad to prepare ahead of the Queensland Country Championships in Townsville at the end of June.

We wish all players, coaches, and support staff the very best as they represent FNQ Rugby with pride.

Was great to be involved in running these training sessions for these lads and to see a number selected in the Peninsula U15 squad after trialing .
And also a number selected to play for FNQ Rugby Under 16s and a few U14s from this original named squad well done

📣 FNQ Rugby – Under 15 Development Squad Announcement 🏉

We’re excited to announce the FNQ U15 Development Squad, selected in partnership with Blacked Out Rugby Academy Cairns.

1️⃣Recognizing Performance
This squad acknowledges players who excelled during the recent FNQ representative campaign or the 2025 U15 club season as bottom-age players.
All selected players also remain eligible for FNQ U16 selection if required.

2️⃣Preparation for Peninsula Trials
Players will take part in regular training in early 2026 (dates TBC) to prepare for the U15 Peninsula Union trials.

FNQ Rugby rep Under 16 squad training is on Fridays now .
5pm Bills Mills Park Forest Gardens .
The Match day 23 will be named after this training session so please all original squad named players attend and push for a spot in the final 23 and any Shadows to play Townsville here in Cairns on Saturday May 30th .
And then be eligible to be playing the Queensland Country Champs down in Townsville for FNQ .

Anzac day morning session out at the Paddock.
Lots of detail for the boys that attended.
Quality over quantity.
No contact or fitness today as most have club rugby league tomorrow so we broke it down , lots of chat , what we want and detail.
Warm up , and team ice breakers taken by forwards Coach Deryk Gray .
Then into Jackal technique, cues , ball runner find thier front and placement.
Then skills and kicking Coach Gordon Carlile ran ball running with pass selection and timing .
Finish with Ruck defence.
And then team building blind challenge to score a try between the poles and avoid defenders (cones and hurdles).
Good little session.
One last U15 FNQ Development session next Saturday 8am out the Paddock Marshall at Machans Beach .
All under 15 and U16 players welcome .
Then coach D got the call up to Referee Jcu vs Barron .
Time for a rest now.
Before Club league and our first comp Game Assistant coach Brothers U15
Vs Southern Suburbs 11.30am kick off Field 3 Stan Williams Park .

FNQ Rugby Under 16 rugby union training tonight 5pm Bill Mills park forest gardens , i know some are away at tbay league camp hope the rest can attend and get a good session in .
Training days and times will probably change from next week due to all this school and club league i will advise over the weekend , we need some solid sessions before the final 23 is named and we play Townsville here in Cairns now at the end of May .
Then we lead into the country champs training and tournament .
I am running a session for u15 lads 8am saturday at machans if any of u16 boys want extras as well

Under 15s Academy training on this Saturday 8am -9.30am .

All U15/ u14 selected players as well as other players in this age group welcome from all of the Fnq junior clubs to get some rugby skills leading into your peninsula school sport trial .
Make sure you get your paperwork approved to trial if in Tcc, all other zones as per requirements for the Peninsula trial day.
