What a season it’s been — a premiership winning year to remember! Tonight’s wind-up was made even more special with Life Members Bill Hoffmann and Gary Lloyd in attendance, along with past premiership player Mick Clark. Great to have legends of the club share in the celebrations! 🙌

On what was a glorious day for cricket, Matt Hagger won the toss and elected to bat first.

Skipper Hagger took the first over hitting the last ball of the over for four. However it was all down hill from there; it seemed. Finding ourselves 4-31 and then 6-58. Amongst the carnage young Tommy Couzner made a well compiled 20. From here Dugald MacLachlan and Co Skipper Dan Clark together steadied the ship. Managed to put on what turned out to be a match winning partnership of 48.
Once that partnership was broken the last 3 wickets fell with the score 109.

Bowling didn’t start on plan either…. The first ball of the bowling innings going for four. From here it was all up hill… some tight bowling and good catching. The belief came when the opposition skipper collided with his batting partner and was run out. One for the good guys. This took the score to 3-49 to be bowled out for 68 losing their last 9 wickets for 45 runs. In what was an even bowling performance, veteran Hoova Pycroft took 4 crucial wickets with a frugal economy rate. The old saying stands true, catches win matches.

The final catch at deep mid on was in the safest of all hands with Cole Gerloff, right in front of family friends. From here jubilation.
