π Weekend Wrap-Up: Logan Village Cricket Club β October 25β26
It was a weekend of highs, heartbreaks, and heroics across the Logan Village Cricket Club as our teams took to the field with fire in their bellies.
π₯ CGC Village Division 3 vs Burleigh
Division 3 kicked things off by reducing Burleigh to 9/157, thanks to a sharp spell from Corbin Kaminski, who claimed 3/20. The chase, however, didnβt start smoothly β Village found themselves in deep trouble at 6/55. But up stepped Darren Collis with a match-saving knock of 71* alongside Jackson Larkins, who held firm with 12*. The pair steered the side to safety in a gritty finish.
βοΈ LDCA Village A vs Beenleigh
Village A took on Beenleigh and did well to restrict the visitors to 159. Sushant Shingte was tidy with 2/27, while Kaine Bowne chipped in with 2/45. The chase looked comfortable at 3/95, but after the dismissal of Justin Noonan for 23, the innings unravelled. A dramatic collapse saw Village lose 6/17, ultimately bowled out for 139 β a tough pill to swallow after such a promising start.
π LDCA B vs Beenleigh White
The B Grade side had no such trouble, cruising to a comfortable win over Beenleigh White. After rolling the opposition for just 80, Tairi Pokipoki starred with the ball, snaring 6/20 in a fiery spell. The chase was clinical β Village passed the target three down, with Twin Tiro smashing 53* off just 45 balls to seal the deal.
π§ Over 50s vs Runaway Bay
On Sunday, the Over 50s delivered a composed performance against Runaway Bay. Bowling first, they restricted the visitors to 170, with Andrew Steindl (2/32) and William Moggs (2/39) leading the charge. The top order then made light work of the chase β Jamie Freiberg retired on 50, and Michael Radke added a classy 48 to guide the side
