On Saturday the VL1 Reserves Women played their hearts out in the grand final and were desperately unlucky to be defeated 2-1 with a goal after the siren. It was an excellent display of skill and teamwork by the squad who can hold their heads high.

The boys are back in town!! Our VL2 men took the trophy in brilliant shootouts fashion and will be promoted to VL1 2027! More to come but for now here’s the boys proudly singing the song with dozens of adoring fans.

Grand Final time! The magnificent Metro NW ladies were up against our close neighbors Essendon HC. And what a tussle it was, two evenly matched teams went full on for 60 minutes of brilliant hockey. Nil all at half time it wasn’t until the third quarter that Essendon broke the deadlock after 5 short corners in a row. Brunswick responded with some great passages of play but just couldn’t quite find the back of the net before time ran out. A 1 – 0 loss but a brilliant game from the ladies to top off a fantastic season. Bring on next year Wicks!😍🖤🤍🏑

Congratulations to Alicia Saward on reaching the incredible milestone of 200 games for Brunswick Hockey Club last weekend! 👏🏑

Alicia is a valued member of BHC, playing both in the Mid-week competition and Seniors this year.

Her positive attitude and genuine team spirit makes her someone everyone wants to play alongside!

Our Women’s Vic League 1 Reserves are Grand Final bound!

After an outstanding season and a 3-1 win against a strong KBH Brumbies to secure their place in the Grand Final, the team now has one final challenge ahead.

They’ve worked hard, backed each other all season and earned every bit of this opportunity. Now they’ll take the field with the chance to turn a brilliant season into a Major Premiership. 🏆

Bring on a new pitch for the Wicks in 2027! Last night Merri-bek City Council awarded the contract for the design and construction of our new turf at McDonald Reserve Coburg to Polytan. Huge thanks to all the Councillors and the professional Council officers at Merri-bek and to the State Govt and our local member Anthony Cianflone MP for backing us. We can't wait to get started in October to serve our community next year.

Heartbreak! The Pen D Women played Essendon in the semi-final on Sunday and at the end of regular time were locked at 1-1, so it was off to euros! In two nerve-wracking sets of shootouts it was Essendon who finally scored the winning goal. Brilliant play by both teams, and huge props to players and goalies who kept their nerve to the end. The women had an excellent season with support from coaches and many fans on the sidelines. Great pics from Cam Wells!
