A HUGE congratulations to BJ Johnstone, who capped off an incredible season by being named Player of the Grand Final AND Player of the Year — on top of being voted Players’ Player of the Year by her Pink Galahs teammates at our own presentation night! 🏆🩷

What an incredible effort from this team! We battled it out in the rain, had an absolute blast doing it, and came away with the win! 🌧️💪

A massive thank you to the Mildura Warriettes for a great game, Buddy for always being there for us, and Blayne for everything he did to organise the day.

And of course — to our girls. What a team. What a season. What a finish! 🩷

💗Presentation Night 2026💗

Last Wednesday we celebrated our inaugural Silver City Pink Galahs season with a night dedicated to recognising the incredible people who made it all possible.

Every player received a small gift from our coach as a thank you for their commitment throughout the season. Whether you played every game or just a few, every one of you helped build this team and should be proud of what we've achieved together.

A huge thank you goes to everyone who supported us behind the scenes, especially our player spouses, James Braithwaite for capturing so many unforgettable moments throughout the season, Uncle Buddy for his guidance, encouragement and constant support, and Blayne for the enormous effort that went into creating this competition and giving women's rugby league another chance to grow in our region.

We also want to acknowledge the people who started the season with us but couldn't finish. You'll always be part of the Pink Galahs story, and we hope to see you back next season. 💗

🏆 2026 Award Winners

💗 Players' Player: BJ Johnstone – a natural leader who earned the respect and admiration of her teammates.

💗 Rookie of the Year: Alyce Pogson – for her incredible growth, determination and willingness to learn throughout the season.

💗 Coach's Recognition Award: Lucy Biddle – for her unwavering consistency, work ethic and the positive impact she has had on our team and the rugby league community.

Congratulations to all three recipients. Every award was thoroughly deserved.

As our season comes to a close, we'd also like to congratulate the Silver City Scorpions on a fantastic year. While the Grand Final wasn't to be this season, you represented Broken Hill with pride, passion and determination every time you took the field.

Now it's time for one last challenge...

We'll be taking on the mighty Mildura Warriettes, a team we've loved competing alongside all season. We'd love to see our community come down and support not only the Pink Galahs, but women's rugby league, our volunteers, officials and everyone who has helped make this competition such a success.

No matter the result, we're incredibly proud of what this team has built in its very first season.

A huge apology to our amazing supporters for going a little quiet over the past couple of weeks!
We've been busy behind the scenes recovering from a big season, preparing for our Presentation Night, and getting ourselves ready for the biggest game of the year...
THE GRAND FINAL! 🔥🏉

The countdown is officially on, with Grand Final Day locked in for Sunday, 9th August. As the final game times and event details are confirmed, we can already tell it's shaping up to be an incredible day of rugby league. We'd love to see our community come down, cheer on every team, and help celebrate a fantastic season of local footy.

Standing in our way are our great mates and worthy opponents, the Mildura Warriettes. Throughout this inaugural season they've shown nothing but commitment, sportsmanship and passion for growing women's rugby league, and we can't wait to share one last battle with them on Grand Final Day.

Today we went down 56–0 to the Wilcannia Wildflowers in our first loss of the season, but the result doesn't reflect everything this team showed.

With only eight players available, today's game was played as 7-a-side with just one interchange against a formidable Wilcannia side. They were fast, skilful and physical, and deserved the win. Despite that, our girls never stopped turning up for each other.

When you're short on numbers, every tackle, every carry and every defensive set asks a little bit more of everyone. Our girls accepted that challenge and kept competing right until the final whistle.

A special moment from the day was seeing sisters Kendra and Kaley take the field together for the first time. Kaley had a terrific game in defence and was voted by the team as this week's Player of the Match, taking home the $50 Far West gift card. Congratulations, Kaley! 👏

We also want to take the time to acknowledge our Pink Galahs. Thank you to every player who made the trip, put your hand up when numbers were low, and represented our club with pride. The commitment, resilience and team-first attitude you showed today is exactly what this club is about. Every one of you should be proud of the way you represented the Pink Galahs today.

Finally, thank you to the Wilcannia Wildflowers for hosting us for your home game. Congratulations on a well-earned win, and thank you for your hospitality. We always enjoy the trip to Wilcannia and appreciate the way you welcomed us.

With five weeks left in the season, it's back to the drawing board for us. We'll take the lessons from today, keep building, and come back bigger and better for the final stretch. 💗🖤
