🏏 NJCA UMPIRING PLAYING CONDITIONS TRAINING SESSION 🏏

Want to umpire in NJCA competitions or carnivals this season? This session is for you!

The NJCA Playing Conditions Training Session is designed to prepare you for game day. Through realistic examples and activities, you'll work through common situations, discuss potential challenges and learn how to confidently apply the playing conditions in the moment.

📍 Club Charlestown

This session is mandatory for all new umpires wanting to umpire in NJCA competitions and carnivals.

Already umpiring with NJCA? All existing umpires are strongly encouraged to attend as a refresher and to make sure everyone is across the playing conditions for the upcoming season.

The Newcastle Junior Cricket Association is excited to again offer our 2026–27 NJCA Coach Ready Program.

Whether you’re taking your first steps into coaching or looking to build your confidence and develop your coaching skills, this program has been designed to help you deliver quality coaching sessions and make a positive impact on every player you work with.

The program provides practical guidance, mentoring and support to help coaches feel prepared, organised and confident throughout the season.

2-hour practical coaching session

Individual follow-up phone call after your training sessions to review your progress, answer questions and provide ongoing support.

Advocating for safety and inclusion in your club: Member Protection Information Officer Community of Practice #3

If you’re an MPIO, make sure you’re registered for the third Play by the Rules community of practice session on 17 September.

The MPIO role can feel a bit reactive, but there is so much you can do to be proactive! Come along and interact with fellow MPIOs and learn how to promote your role while educating others in your club about positive conduct.

We would rather celebrate good behaviour than police bad behaviour, but there is a line.

Undermining an umpire puts your team’s result at risk.

If something happens, report it to your club as soon as possible so it can be lodged with NJCA. Serious or repeated breaches are dealt with under the NJCA Code of Conduct, up to and including suspension.

Thank you to the overwhelming majority who will never need to read this post.
