Congratulations to everyone on today’s match!
An excellent all-round performance by the team. We laid a strong foundation with our batting Utpal da and Mehedi bhai were outstanding and gave us a solid start. 😌🏏

On the bowling side, we began brilliantly by conceding very few runs during the powerplay. Although there was a brief lapse in the middle overs, we bounced back strongly and restricted them to 165 runs.

Rest in peace 🪦 Ben 😔💔🏏

The family of Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes has paid tribute to Ben Austin who died in hospital after being struck in the neck by a ball in practice nets in Melbourne.

"We would like to send our deepest condolences to the Austin family for the loss of their adored son and brother, Ben," the Hughes family said in a statement.

"Our thoughts are with you, the Ferntree Gully Cricket Club and the greater cricket community as we think of Ben and his love of cricket.

"We send our warmest sympathies as you navigate through this time, as we know all too well … and hope your cherished memories of Ben comfort you."

Cricket authorities described the tragedy as "similar" to a 2014 accident in which Hughes died after being hit by a ball during a Sheffield Shield match.

Seems like we were probably 15-20 runs short from a safe score. Nevertheless, the bowlers have tried their best to challenge the opponent but couple of East Tiger batters were on top of us. Don’t get dejected by the loss, you have played well, we will come back stronger in the next match👏💪

Our bowlers were on point — accurate, economical, and lethal. Great start in the powerplay with the bat, followed by solid support through the middle, ensuring a smooth chase to the finish. 😌
