š£ Mt Coot tha Trail Festival Update
After many months of planning, weāve made the difficult decision not to proceed with the 2026 Mt Coot-tha Trail Festival.
Community events rely on registrations, sponsorship and funding to be financially viable. While registrations were encouraging, the reality is that the cost of delivering a safe, high quality event in 2026 has increased significantly.
We also explored every avenue to make the festival happen. Our Queensland Government grant application was unsuccessful, even after seven successful years of event delivery, and while weāre incredibly grateful to our sponsors, their support was primarily in kind rather than the financial funding needed to deliver the event.
We could have scaled the festival back, but that isnāt the experience we want to deliver. Rather than compromise on quality, weāve made the difficult decision not to proceed and let everyone know early so you have time to adjust your plans.
All registered participants have been emailed with information regarding refunds and the next steps.
To everyone who registered, shared the event and believed in what we were trying to create, thank you. Weāre genuinely sorry and appreciate your understanding.
