As Director of WT Compensation Lawyers, one of the most admired law firms in Brisbane, Queensland AUSTRALIA, 's perspectives on workers' rights and compensation law have been featured across several reputable media outlets, publications and podcast platforms.
This afternoon at 4pm as a community initiative, will be addressing challenges in the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme, helping participants understand their working rights in Australia.
The PALM scheme has been pivotal in bridging labor gaps, allowing eligible Australian businesses to hire workers from 9 Pacific islands and Timor-Leste.
The program has 494 employers and 30,707 workers across Australia, with Queensland hosting the most workers (10,605) primarily in agriculture and meat processing sectors.

In the last 3 years in Cairns, Far North Queensland I've met many seasonal workers from Samoa, Fiji and PNG, and have discovered that despite its successes, the PALM scheme participants faces challenges such as:

π Cultural Adjustments
π Legal and Health Concerns
aims to address the complexities faced by PALM participants and for them to have a better understanding about their entitlements and protections under Australian law in addition to cultural integration and their health and wellbeing.
