Update Update!!!

Yellow belts - it is time for YOUR education. To make sure you can continue teaching the next generation of Vovinam, we need to make sure you stay up to date and current! To do that, we have opened up an additinal training schedule for you, effective immediately!

Times as below:
Wednesday: 6 to 7.30pm
Saturdays
- instructors: 1 to 2pm
- all other yellow belts: 2 to 4pm

We will also be temporarily suspending the mixed belts class on Saturdays (previously from 3 to 4.30pm).

Hopefully our yellow belts don't end up like the Broncos 😜

We don't believe in school breaks. That's why we whipped our demo team into shape and sent them to represent Vovinam Qld in the Australian Vovinam Technical Tournament in Melbourne this weekend!

Congratulations to our team on an amazing effort! A big thank you to all the parents, instructors and students who have provided their support, encouragement, and dedication throughout the journey. Also a big thank you to our Melbourne Vovinam colleagues who helped organise this event - no doubt a great logistical event!

A special thank you to Cô Hà and Kathy for helping with the cooking and looking after everyone while the team were there. You really help point the spotlight in our students and help them achieve their best!

Anyone you recognise in these photos? Maybe next year, people will be recognising YOU! So keep dedicating yourself to your art and the results will follow.

Woo!! Now that Term 1 grading is done, we can focus on Term 2!

Enrolments for Term 2 are now open for ALL students. The enrolment period will commence from Tuesday 16 June and close Sunday 12 July at the end of lessons. We will NOT be accepting any late enrolments.

Not sure how to join? It's actually very simple - come to a lesson (Tuesdays at 6pm OR Sundays at 2pm) and try it out. If you like it, and you're not too puffed out/sore, have a chat to one of our instructors or admin team to talk about enrolment. Please DO NOT just join via the QR code without talking to one of our team members!

Power 💪 breathing 😤 stance 👣

These are the foundations our discipline is built upon and the core concepts for our grading! So make sure you display all of these aspects when you grade tomorrow, bring your absolute best effort and also make sure you come on time to show your discipline and integrity.

Saturday 13 June (tomorrow)
Blue III and above
Time - 1pm (arrive at 12.45 for sign in)

Light Blue to Blue II
Time - 2pm (arrive at 1.45 for sign in)
- please ensure you stay quiet and respectful to the senior belts during their grading.

Sunday 14 June (this Sunday)
And don't forget!! Memorial day and belt ceremony at 2pm for ALL belts - this is mandatory attendance even if you did not grade as this is culture and history of Vovinam's foundations.

While you're all preparing for grading, it might be worth letting you have something to look forward to!

Vovinam Picnic is happening. Details below:
Date: Sunday 21 June
Time: 9am till 12pm
What to wear: Vovinam white shirt and Vovinam blue pants
- please also wear comfortable shoes and sun safe hat

This is a family event so bring your brothers and sisters and relatives for some fun and games!

If able, bring a plate of food to share as well so we can judge who is the best cook. We hear Thầy Vui is a pretty good cook too and Thầy Tam is pretty good at eating 😜

So come celebrate your achievements from Term 1 with a great big get together :)

Grading is coming up!

For those grading, ALL forms must be completed AND paid for by end of classes on Sunday 07 June (that's this Sunday). There will be no late acceptances.

Grading will be on Saturday 13 June commencing at midday for senior belts, and 2pm for Light Blue to Blue II. Please do NOT be late as the day is usually long. If you are coming to support, please ensure you are not in the way of the examiners and keep noise to a minimum so our students can remain focused!

Following this, Sunday 14 June at 2pm will be Belt Ceremony and Memorial Day. This is for ALL Vovinam students to attend and is part of the Vovinam culture in respecting our predecessors and the history of Vovinam. As always, we would be grateful and appreciative if families could bring a plate of food to share - we hear Thầy Vui cooks pretty well 😜
