At Joy Flamenco, our dancers don’t just learn footwork, arm movements, rhythm, time signatures, turns, and choreography.

They also learn to play castanets 🎶🎹the beautiful, traditional flamenco instrument from Spain Known as castañuelas in Spanish, these handheld percussion instruments have been part of Spanish culture for thousands of years and are iconic in flamenco.

By learning castanets, our students,

• Develop a deeper sense of rhythm and musicality
• Connect more intimately with the music they dance to
• Gain the skills to one day combine castanets with their flamenco dancing for truly authentic performances

Junior Group 5-8 years

What a wonderful day at the Kids Latin Festival! 🪭💃🏻

Our dancers performed beautifully and looked absolutely fantastic in their brand-new costumes!

For many of them, this was their very first flamenco performance on stage
and we couldn’t be prouder of their courage, confidence and enthusiasm.

A huge congratulations to all our amazing dancers for sharing their passion and bringing so much energy to the stage!

And a heartfelt thank you to all the families and friends who came along to support them ♥️

This evening marked our final rehearsal before our big performance at Kids Fiesta Latin, taking place tomorrow at 1:30 PM at Gregory Park, Milton!

For weeks, our dancers have been working tirelessly towards this moment.

Their dedication, focus, and passion have been incredible to witness, and tonight’s rehearsal was the perfect culmination of all their hard work.

This show is a celebration of their commitment, creativity, and love for dance.

We can’t wait to share this special moment with you and showcase the amazing results of their tireless effort.
