Two games every weekend. All winter long.

Now that's worthy of our monthly umpire award!

This winter, Andrew has stepped up to umpire two games every weekend, taking on games at Surfers and heading out on Sundays to officiate in the SQWBL.

But it's not just about the number of games—it's the way Andrew approaches every one.

As a club umpire coordinator, he has earned the respect of players through his accuracy, consistency and calm game management.

He knows the rules, knows how to manage a game and, importantly, commands respect from players on both sides of the diamond.

Umpires don't always get the spotlight, but without them, there simply isn't a game.

Andrew is one of those volunteers who keeps turning up, keeps putting in the work and helps make sure our players can do what they love.

Two games a weekend. Week after week. That's commitment. 👏

From waiting eagerly to get to his games as a kid, to hall of famer - throughout Goofy's illustrious career, he has never lost sight of the simple joy of baseball.

That simple love of the game would eventually become a career spanning the highest levels of Queensland and Australian baseball.

In a few short weeks, more than three decades after that five-year-old first stepped onto the diamond, David 'Goofy' Sutherland joins the ranks of Baseball Queensland's most decorated in the Hall of Fame.

She’s back!

Danica is back in the office as Queensland Little League District Administrator and Competitions Manager - easy to spot with bright purple hair, and even easier to hear, thanks to a laugh that carries across at least two diamonds.

Off the field, Danica finally bought her dream car - a Mustang, living out the race car driver fantasy she never quite grew out of.

If there’s one thing Danica loves as much as a clean process, it’s teaching someone the right way to do something. Thankfully, she’s much better at explaining than Moira Rose was at telling David how to fold in the cheese.

She’s spent years building competition systems and reporting, and if you ask her about scoring, she’ll tell you it’s really just an excuse to use her favourite coloured pens.

She loves getting it right, and Queensland Little League runs a lot smoother for it.

Long before Brad Dutton pulled on a Queensland jersey, he was standing on the other side of the diamond – watching his idols wear it.

What followed is a career spanning more than 40 years and counting. One where he wrote himself into the history books and inspired a new generation of baller.

In a few short weeks, Brad's contribution to baseball across the state will be recognised as he is inducted into Baseball Queensland's Hall of Fame.

In a numbers game like baseball we definitely don't take for granted having everything add up.

At Surfers Paradise Baseball Club, the incredible number cruncher is Kristie.

As Club Treasurer, Kristie has been working hard behind the scenes, particularly in the lead-up to the AGM.

From preparing financials alongside the club accountant to putting processes in place to help parents and players keep their accounts up to date, she makes sure the club's finances are in good shape.

Her hard work paid off, with the financials clearly presented at the AGM—and the membership making it pretty clear they weren't ready to let her go! 👏

Kristie was happily voted back into the Treasurer role, a great reflection of the trust and confidence the club has in her.

But her contribution doesn't stop at the spreadsheet. 📊

Kristie is also involved with the Ladies team and plays an important role in supporting the pathway for young girls coming through the club and helping them make the jump into the Ladies GBL ranks. ⚾💪

Numbers, pathways and plenty of behind-the-scenes work—Kristie is helping build a stronger club both on and off the field.

Following their recent resignations from the Board of Management, Baseball Queensland acknowledges the efforts of Mr Chris Norrie and Mr David Badke in their respective roles as the Commissioner and a Director. During their tenures they made numerous contributions to the Queensland Baseball community. Baseball Queensland wishes them well in their future endeavours. As the Deputy Commissioner, Mr David Paddison AM will perform the duties of Commissioner until the next Annual General Meeting.

It started out with a GoPro on the backstop to improve his game.

Today, baseball fans from across the world tune in and watch his livestreams. But becoming baseball broadcaster was never part of the plan for Surfers Paradise Dad, John Reimers.

John was content watching his favourite video games play out online.

When his wife signed the kids up for t-ball, he was completely unaware of the slippery slope that becoming involved in Surfers Paradise Baseball Club would be.

Now he's live streaming the Winter Ball Grand Final this weekend and taking the local league to the world.

Haaaave you met Emily?

Emily is our new Events Coordinator and Little League Administrator and no one knows events quite like she does.

With a Diploma of Event Management and a background spanning major festivals, live events and event security, she knows what it takes to make an event work—not just behind the scenes, but from the perspective of the people actually attending.

And she practices what she preaches. When she’s not organising events, Emily spends her weekends going to them—usually somewhere in the mosh pit and as close to the stage as possible! 😂🎤

That gives her a unique perspective on creating experiences that people genuinely enjoy.

But for Emily, great events are about more than logistics. She’s particularly passionate about child welfare and volunteer wellbeing, shaped by years of working in event safety and volunteering at community and sporting events since she was 14.

Now she’s bringing that experience to Little League, helping create tournaments where kids are safe, volunteers feel supported and everyone has a great experience.

She’s even studying a Diploma of Crowd Safety—because apparently one qualification wasn’t enough! 😂

From the mosh pit to the ballpark, Emily knows what makes an event an experience. ⚾❤️
