And that’s a wrap for R.E.A.P. the Rewards touch football program.

Over two years ago Uncle Darren and I came up with an idea to work alongside Logan New Directions (local police officers and youth justice workers) to provide an environment for disengaged kids to be at their best through the sport of touch football.

Initially we planned for 8 sessions in the Logan area. At our first session 2 young people attended. Not to be deterred we kept on turning up and providing a supporting environment, one where the kids were simply asked two things: do their best & have fun.

Well word soon spread.

We ended up delivering 124 sessions, in Logan, North Brisbane and Dalby areas.

Along the way we engaged with more than 150 young people.

It’s never about the destination; it’s about the journey … and what a great journey we shared with those 150+ young people.

It would not have been possible without the amazing assistance of some fantastic people, who genuinely wanted to make a positive impact with the young people of their area. Thank you all - I know you achieved that goal.

Massive shout out to Uncle Darren and Luke - OGs from session 1 and looking even better at session 124. And our silent partner and unwavering supporter, Jo Mc💓.

Great to work with Greenbank Rugby League Football Club in assisting to develop and implement their Club Coaching Philosophy.
Future proofing their Club by investing in their coaching staff. The ones who volunteer their time and have the biggest impact upon their athletes. Making the 'greatest game of all' even better.

They say time flies when you are having fun! And that explains why the last 20 weeks has gone by faster than lightning.

Thanks to Dalby police and Dalby PCYC for their unwavering support and assistance in delivering my R.E.A.P. the Rewards touch footy program.

The BIGGEST thanks though to the kids. You showed perseverance & commitment along with great humour while stepping outside of your comfort zone & giving everything a crack.

Was such a thrill for Elder Darren and I to be alongside you on your journey to ‘reaping the rewards.’
