The Gabba

The Gabba The Gabba is an icon of the Brisbane landscape and is the home ground for the Brisbane Lions, Brisbane Heat and Queensland Bulls.

The Gabba is highly regarded by cricket fans and players as having one of the best cricket wickets in the world. First established in 1895, The Gabba has hosted many major events including cricket, AFL, baseball, rugby league, rugby union, Olympic soccer and major sell-out concerts. The venue has an official capacity of 42,000, which can vary depending on event overlays, and a range of function an

d meeting spaces that are used extensively throughout the year. The stadium boasts unrestricted views of the oval playing surface from all areas making it ideal to host international sporting and entertainment events.

The Sunflower program has been introduced at The Gabba!🌻

This Invisible Disability Week (19 to 25 October) we’re proud to share that we’re recently joined forces with Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Australia & New Zealand to introduce the Sunflower program to our venue.

The Sunflower is a globally recognised symbol for non-visible disabilities, also known as hidden or invisible disabilities. At The Gabba, patrons can choose to wear a sunflower symbol (lanyards, badges or wristbands), to discreetly identify to venue staff that they have a hidden disability and may need extra support, understanding or time during their visit. Venue staff wearing Sunflower lanyards or pins are available to assist when needed.

We are proud to foster an inclusive culture where all staff, visitors, and athletes feel welcome and respected.

Tonight we light up blue in honour of those police officers who have paid the ultimate price and tragically lost their lives in the line of duty.

We also extend our thoughts to those officers who have passed away outside of their service.
