Mid-year as a business at least for me always offers an opportunity to recalibrate.
This is our 16th year in service. From the very beginning we’ve always focused on quality over quantity. And after our physical expansion (almost 3 years ago now) it’s been so deeply about refining….what is working, what is sustainable and what is connecting us to the values that have guided us from the beginning. Equally, it’s about being honest about what isn’t working, what we’ve outgrown and what is asking to be released.
I feel right in the belly of life at the moment both personally and professionally. Some things are certainly easier to digest than others but at the core of it I’m simplifying, strengthening foundations, having more fun and creating more space for the things that matter most. The things that create connection, feel purposeful, and can be maintained with quality, consistency and presence.
Ourano is continually maturing in her own beautiful way. It feels like a very important part of my job as the steward here to simply listen and be guided by what’s next.
So this week found me journaling in each room of the studio. Moving from corner to corner, allowing each space to offer its own perspective. I approach this the same way you would connect intentionally with your body.
I’m listening, visioning and writing…some of what I hear leads back to what already exists. Some ideas are tweaked. Others are let go of. New offerings begin to take shape. And some feel like a gentle nod of, “you know.”
I’ve always found something powerful about changing your vantage point in a place you are so familiar with and discovering messages and perspectives you would have otherwise missed. Try it.
Perhaps that’s what this season gives us…we can pump the brakes on racing forward for what’s next and just take a second and create a little space to hear what has been awaiting our attention.
In gratitude,
Ourania x
