What a fantastic Saturday at Bossley Sports Club! 💙⚽

Looking around the grounds, one thing stood out above everything else — our kids were having fun. No matter the result, there were smiles everywhere, friendships being built and memories being made. That’s what grassroots football is all about.

A huge thank you to all our parents who braved the cold and turned up to support their children. Your encouragement from the sidelines means more than you know and helps create the family atmosphere that makes Bossley so special.

A very special thank you also goes to our incredible committee and volunteer helpers. Week in, week out, these amazing people give up their time to serve our community and ensure everything runs smoothly. From setting up fields, running the canteen and BBQ, helping teams, maintaining the grounds and doing all the jobs that often go unnoticed — you are the heart and soul of our club.

Our home days are something we’re incredibly proud of. Great food, great facilities, fantastic football and an even better community. We genuinely believe Bossley delivers some of the best home game experiences in Southern Districts, and that’s only possible because of the people who volunteer their time behind the scenes.

A big thank you also to all of our sponsors for their ongoing support of the club and our players.

We now turn our attention to Sunday’s fixtures and wish all of our teams the very best of luck. Go out there, enjoy your football, play for each other and represent the Bossley badge with pride.

U10 Div 1 Match Report

Our U10 Div 1 boys had a big test today against Western Condors and unfortunately we just didn’t show up the way we know we can.

The boys found themselves chasing the game and, despite some individual moments of brilliance across the pitch, we struggled to win the second balls, compete with our usual intensity and play for each other as a team.

A tactical change early in the second half saw captain Sebastian pushed into a more attacking role and the move paid off immediately, with Bossley finding a way back into the contest. Unfortunately, within a minute Condors were awarded a penalty and from that point our heads dropped, bodies switched off and the game got away from us.

This division is too strong to switch off for even a few minutes. When confidence drops and players stop working for each other, teams will punish you, and that’s exactly what happened today. The lesson is simple — we must compete until the final whistle, no matter what the scoreboard says.

While today’s result sees Condors close the gap, we’re still six points clear of them and remain in the hunt, sitting just five points behind the league leaders with a huge challenge against Rovers next week.

A special mention goes to Liam in goal. Keep your head up mate. You made some outstanding saves throughout the match and without your efforts the margin could have been much greater. You never stopped competing and should be proud of your performance.

I’d also like to thank Eli and his family for allowing him to play today on such a special occasion for your family. We know there were more important things happening away from football, and it meant a lot to the team that Eli was there with us. We hope Jeremiah had a blessed day and that your family enjoyed every moment of it. 💙

Today hurts, but that’s football. We learn from it, work hard at training this week, rebuild as a team and come back stronger. The boys know they’re capable of much better than what they showed today.

Now it’s time to respond and show everyone what Bossley is all about. 💙⚽💪

U15 Div 3 Match Report

What a performance from our U15 Div 3 boys, knocking off an undefeated Kemps side with a brilliant 2-0 victory!

From the first whistle, the boys were switched on, defending brilliantly, staying composed under pressure and taking their chances when they came. Their discipline, patience and teamwork frustrated a Kemps side that had not tasted defeat all season.

Justin and George were rewarded for their hard work with a goal each, but this was truly a complete team performance built on effort, commitment and belief.

A special mention goes to Adyn, who was an absolute rock in goal. Time and time again he came up with outstanding saves to keep the opposition at bay and give the team confidence at the back. 👏🧤

Credit must go to every player today. The boys played with maturity, composure and worked tirelessly for one another. It was fantastic to see a team playing with such confidence and understanding of each other’s game.

A result to be very proud of and one that shows just how far this group has come.

U15 Match Report

A challenging day for our U15 boys, who were short on numbers and came up against a strong Mounties side.

A big thank you to Toby, George, Matteo and James for stepping up and helping the team out this week. Your willingness to put your hand up and support the squad was greatly appreciated.

The game started positively, with one of our helpers finding the back of the net to give the boys an early boost. Despite plenty of effort and commitment throughout the match, we just couldn’t quite put everything together and Mounties were able to take control as the game progressed.

While the result wasn’t what we were after, there are always lessons to take from games like these and opportunities to improve.

Keep your heads up boys, work hard at training and we’ll go again next week. 💙⚽👏

LU14 Div 2 Match Report

Our LU14 Div 2 girls came away with a hard-fought draw today after a game of two very different halves.

The first half was a slow start for the girls, with the team spending much of the time defending and being pinned in their own half. Despite the pressure, they showed resilience and worked hard to stay in the contest.

After a few tactical tweaks and a positive shift in focus and determination, the girls came out a different side in the second half. They looked far more composed, controlled much of the play and began creating opportunities of their own. Unfortunately, they couldn’t quite find the finishing touch despite some promising chances.

There were plenty of positives to take from the second-half performance, particularly the way the girls responded to adversity and backed themselves more as the game went on.

Hopefully this performance helps build even more confidence in themselves and each other as they continue to push forward, improve and grow as a team.

Well done girls on a determined effort. 💙⚽👏

LU14 Div 1 Match Report

Our LU14 Div 1 girls put in a courageous performance today, going down to a very strong opposition side that came into the match with an impressive goal difference.

The girls showed plenty of heart, determination and resilience throughout the game, never giving up and continuing to compete right until the final whistle. They worked hard for each other, defended bravely and made their opponents earn everything they got.

While the result didn’t go our way, there were plenty of positives to take from the performance and the effort shown by the team was something to be proud of.

A special thank you to Alexia for stepping in and helping the team out today. Your willingness to help out was greatly appreciated by everyone. 💙⚽👏

An amazing performance from our U11 Div 5 boys against Moorebank on Saturday!

The team played some fantastic football, moving the ball around beautifully with great passing, clever through balls and plenty of teamwork. It was clear to see that all the hard work at training is paying off, with the boys putting together one of their best performances of the season.

A special mention goes to Hafiz, who was outstanding in front of goal and capped off a brilliant game with a hat-trick. 👏⚽⚽⚽

Most pleasing of all was the way the boys played for each other, worked hard and stuck to what they’ve been practising at training.

U9 White Match Report

Our U9 White team faced Austral on Saturday and, despite creating plenty of opportunities throughout the game, were unable to convert their chances.

The boys worked hard and showed plenty of determination, but sometimes football can be a game of fine margins. There were plenty of positive passages of play and opportunities created, which is something the team can continue to build on moving forward.

Congratulations to Kassem and Bruinel, who were named Players of the Match for their outstanding efforts and contributions throughout the game. đź‘Źâš˝

U13 Div 2 Match Report

A disappointing 2-1 loss for our U13 Div 2 boys against a strong Western Condors side on Saturday.

The boys were a little sluggish in the opening half, but their defensive efforts kept them firmly in the contest. The backline worked hard to repel the Condors’ attacks and ensure the teams went into the break locked at 0-0.

The second half proved challenging, with Western Condors finding two quick goals that put Bossley on the back foot. To their credit, the boys responded well and continued to fight, creating a number of opportunities before finally finding the back of the net.

With momentum building, it felt like an equaliser could have been just around the corner, but unfortunately time wasn’t on our side.

While the result wasn’t what we were after, there are plenty of lessons to take from the match and positives to build on as we prepare for our next challenge.

U8 Metcalfe Green Match Report

A tough one for our U8 Metcalfe Green side today, with the team conceding a late goal against Moorebank after a hard-fought performance.

The kids showed great determination throughout the match, competing strongly and never giving up. While the result didn’t go our way, there were plenty of positives to take from the game and the team can be proud of the effort they put in from start to finish.

Player of the Match goes to Leon for his outstanding work in defence. His positioning, effort and willingness to cover for his teammates helped keep the team in the contest all game. A fantastic defensive display, well done Leon! đź‘Źâš˝

We’ll dust ourselves off, get back to work at training this week and keep improving together.
