Following Saturday’s premiership win, Association President Tim Arthur announced the league trophies winners for season 2025/26.
Congratulations to Oscar Arthur who was awarded the Rocky River Junior Cricketer Of The Year.
Oscar also took home the batting trophy, making 365 runs at an average of 91.25.
George McCallum took home the bowling aggregate trophy with 13 wickets.
It’s a fantastic effort from Oscar & George considering they both still have 2 seasons to play in the under 16 competition.
Our Premiership skipper Elijah McCallum was awarded player of the match for his brilliant bowling display taking 6 wickets for 6 runs.
Well done to these 3 young men and all the BMW team on a fantastic season of cricket.

The Under 16’s have finished the season as Undefeated Premiers 🏆
Winning the toss and batting first proved to be a good choice as the dew on the grass proved to be tricky for the fielding side. Sam and Oscar got them off to a good start with smart running between wickets pushing the score along to 53 after 6 overs. When Oscar lost his wicket, Sam took control still running hard but playing some big shots before he got out for 48. Elijah played well for his 17 and a quick 15 from Luca at the end of the innings helped get the total to 151.
The bowling innings started well with no luck in the wickets column before Elijah brought himself on to bowl. He instantly picked up a wicket with his first ball and then got another with his third both being well caught by Luca in the slips. Not content with 2 wickets in his first over Elijah carried on picking up the first 6 wickets of the innings for only 6 runs completely swinging the momentum in their direction and also getting the player of the match medal for his efforts. Billy put himself on a hat-trick with 2 wickets in 2 balls and Luca got a wicket to win the game!
Well done to both teams as it was played in great spirits 🏏🏆

In a fantastic game of cricket this morning which had parents pacing around nervously and the association president scrambling to find the rule book, our Under 16’s have tied with Crystal Brook. Due to finishing the season in the higher position on the ladder they have progressed to the Grand Final Next weekend.
Crystal Brook batted first and were able to put our bowlers under pressure by rotating the strike and not losing wickets allowing them to increase the run rate towards the end of their innings. Will took some handy wickets to keep the run rate at bay and was assisted by a good opening spell from Sam who picked up a wicket of his own.
The batting innings started well as Oscar and Sam got the runs flowing before Oscar lost his wicket but Sam was able to stay at the crease and put them in a good position. Needing 36 runs from the last 4 overs some big hitting and smart running from Jack B, Elijah and George M got them closer to the target . The last over came down to needing 6 to tie and 7 to win, as the runs ticked over it came down to the last ball needing 2 to win and 1 to tie. The ball went through to the keeper and the alert Elijah and George scampered through for a single to tie the game! Great game of cricket from both sides.
The Grand Final will be held at Melrose Oval Saturday 7th March at 8:00am so come down and show your support as they take on Gladstone/Georgetown! 🏏

The Under 16’s have continued their winning ways against Gladstone/Georgetown however they didn’t have it all their own way. After slumping to 7/57 it was left up to George and Luca to rescue the innings. George made 50 with plenty of boundaries and Luca chipped in with a handy 34 to post a defendable total.
Gladstone/Georgetown got off to a good start until Elijah was introduced to the attack and accounted for the first 3 wickets to fall putting the brakes on their innings. Sol also bowled well to claim a couple of wickets only going for 5 runs from his 3 overs.
The Under 16’s have the bye this week and hopefully enjoy their Saturday morning off 🏏

The Under 16’s have started the new year off with a bang in their first game back after Christmas. Sam and Oscar both retired after making their 50’s and there was valuable contributions from George and Jack to post a big total. But the Player of the match was Frankie with his 5 wickets ensuring the 16’s got over the line in a great bowling performance! 🏏

Congratulations to our boys who represented Mid North in the SACA Country Carnival played last week.
Elijah claimed the best bowling figures in a single match for the carnival, taking an amazing 5 wickets for 6 runs on day 2 against Fleurieu Districts.
His side claimed the under 16 title with a victory over Eyre Peninsula. The first time Mid North has won the shield since 1997.

Oscar had the honour of being Co Captain for the under 14 side.
He finished the carnival as Mid North’s highest run scorer and was in the top 10 for both batting & bowling aggregates.
His side came runners up to a strong Barosssa & Light team.

Bennett and Harry had a fantastic carnival gaining lots of experience playing zone cricket.
Bennett played as an all rounder often batting at 3 and also opened the bowling on occasions.
Harry did a great job wicket keeping & took 2 wickets when given an opportunity with the ball. Their team finished in 4th position at the conclusion of the carnival.

Well done boys & good luck to all the BMW players when cricket starts again next weekend.
