Maroochy River Rowing Club was formed in August 2012 to focus on building the grassroots base of the sport. The philosophy and vision of the club is to devote time to teaching boys and girls from the age of 13 how to row and its policies are based around a youth academy for rowing. s are conducted on Saturday mornings at Bli Bli and run for 8 weeks at time. Regular rowing training for club members is run on scheduled mornings. Russell Muller, the club President, says that the future of the sport relies on devising a plan, getting young people involved, and building the base.
