Hi everyone,

It’s time to dust off the arms, prepare the shoulders and discover muscles you may have forgotten existed.

We’re putting together a team for the Push-Up Challenge, running from 3 June to 26 June, and we’d love you to join us. You do not need to be a gym fanatic, a fitness influencer, or someone who casually does push-ups for fun before breakfast. All levels are welcome, whether you can do 2, 20, or prefer to negotiate with the floor first. In fact if you cant do a pushup, just substitute it for situps, tricep dips or even squats (yes, excuses are quickly running out now aren’t they 😊).

The idea is simple: get involved, have a laugh, challenge yourself and be part of the DefyLimits team. There will be sweat, there may be soreness, and there will almost certainly be some very creative excuses by week two - but that is all part of the experience.

Most importantly, it’s a great way to do something positive together, build a bit of team spirit and prove that a group of determined people can achieve amazing things… even while questioning their life choices mid-push-up.

At Defy Limits, we believe in building both physical and mental resilience. That’s why we’re proud to support The Push-Up Challenge, an initiative that raises awareness for mental health through movement. Over 24 days, participants complete 3,249 push-ups, each one representing a life lost to su***de in Australia in the most recent year of data.

By taking part, our community isn’t just training muscles; we're breaking stigma, sparking conversations, and supporting vital mental health services. Let’s move with purpose. Let’s Defy Limits.

Once again I will be participating in the push-up challenge to raise awareness for better mental health. Over 23 days, I will be pushing for better mental health to perform 3,144 push-ups.

You might ask why 3,144 push-ups? Unfortunately, this is the number of Australians who lost their lives to su***de in 2021.

The Summit Survivor
Come join the team for a bit of fun and laughs on Saturday 19th November – this is a non-serious event to participate in an obstacle course.

The distance is 5km with 40+ obstacles. The Summit Survivor isn’t a timed event, you can take your own time. Your pace is totally up to you—skip any obstacles that you want.

Cost is $109 per person. Confirmation is required ASAP so that we can book in tickets for the afternoon time slot. No need to hesitate, just sign up – feel free to extend to your family and friends also.

Fighting Fit Group Training Program

Our Term 2 fitness program is just around the corner, commencing on Wed 27th April.

So if you believe it is now the time to burn off those extra layers as a result of a heavy Easter binging, our Term 2 program may be of interest.

The focus will be on Fighting Fit; ie getting your body up to a fitness level using boxing, cardio and strength training throughout 9 sessions. There are two times available with a 7pm and 8.30pm timeslot to cater for different preferences. The cost is $162.

With the latest covid restrictions changing, we are re-establishing group training sessions.

Its been a long time for us and we are definitely keen to get group training sessions started again. So effective 28 April (or just after start of term 2), we plan to have 2 classes again on a Wednesday night – at 7pm and 8.30pm.

Unfortunately our 7pm classes are full, however we have places in the 8.30pm slot.

So if you are keen to get back into training or just start moving again, get in touch.

As usual, we will continue our offer of 4 weeks free training to anyone who refers a new member. So if you know of anyone who might be interested, they are welcome to come along for a two week free trial.

We have come to the end of our walking challenge and congratulations to everyone who was involved and brave enough to get off the couch - you beat the excuses of it being too wet, busy, hard day at work etc... to make a difference to you.
Our final results were the Fugitives reaching 1925kms and the Escapees dropping short with 1394kms. Overall though, a fantastic effort. The top 5 contenders who smashed the rest were:
1. Raelene W - 757kms
2. Fiona P - 503kms
3. Rick B - 467kms
4. Bronwyn C - 458kms
5. Sharon C = 371kms In two weeks, new cardio workouts will be provided for those of you keen to burn some fat and get your bodies ready for the summer bathers. If you don't have access to our Platinum Membership, just get in contact.
