๐ OUTSTANDING SERVICE AWARD ๐
Sharyn has been part of the junior program since 2011 and, over the last 9 years, has given an incredible amount of time, leadership and heart to the club.
From Team Manager to Committee Member, to Vice President and Head of Team Managers, then President and continuing with the Executive Committee, she has helped shape Blackburn in countless ways.
She brought organisation and fostered strong Burners culture through significant years, including COVID and the move into our new building. Sharyn helped introduce reversible jumpers, square terminals and new policies, expanded our social media presence, championed welfare, equality and inclusion, and built strong relationships across the football community.
Under her leadership, Blackburn was recognised as both Whitehorse Sporting Club of the Year and EFNL Club of the Year in 2024.
But it has never been about the awards. For Sharyn, it has always been about community.
Whether sheโs supporting volunteers, solving problems, setting up events, jumping behind the bar, managing systems, or simply offering a listening ear and a hug, no task is too big or too small.
As the club song says, she wanted us to โlove our clubโ, and our community certainly does.
While Sharyn says her time in juniors is coming to an end, this award is a fitting recognition of everything she has given.
