π₯ Personal thank you from Monica (sorry its very long lol)
First of all I would like to thank each and everyone of you that came to this years carnival, it was the biggest one we have ever had and I am not sure how we fit everyone in, but we did it.
πThank you to to the members of the RSA exec, Cara, Jo, Mel and Greg for everything, My daughters Jade and Ebonee, for doing records. Beck for doing thank you gifts, when you didn't have to.
π€©Thank you to Nikki Wong for doing the umpire allotments and also helping with umpire issues
π€©Thank you Cristy Sandland for helping with programing games, late night chats, being my sounding board when I needed it
π€©Thank you Catherine Westren and Softball SA for checking registrations, being an ear to bend when I couldn't get my head around things cause of lack of sleep. Always being there when I needed support and coming in clutch when I had a panic moment with deciding on 3 divs for womens and had no time to get medals for them
π€©Special Thanks to Chook Baker and Troy Harrison for bringing the idea of the memorial game and also helping with men's programming. Also thanks Troy for being my ear to complain to when I couldn't think properly AND actually making it make sense (sometimes π)
There's probably soooo many others I need to thank, but can not for the life of me think of them, so please don't take it personal, and accept this as my thanks
Now to a more personal note, I have been involved organising with the carnival now for 8 years, and been head honcho for the last 2 years, and it is with many different emotions and feelings that I announce that this years carnival will be my last one π₯²
I had decided this awhile ago, and to have it go wayyyyyy out there with so many teams coming, has just made it a bittersweet ending, and I can happily leave knowing that I went out with a bang.
I would like to personally thank everyone that I have talked to lately, who knew of my decision and the wise words, supportive words, my sobbing fits, shoulders to cry on, my outbursts. It has been a whirlwind of emotions, but I have come to realise my time is over and I need to find other pursuits to channel my energy into.
Most of all and importantly, I would like to thank EVERYONE, every team, every umpire, every supporter that has come to the masters carnivals over the years and made it a highlight of many many softball players year. Without this softball community, we couldn't do it and make it grow as much as it has.
Signing off for the last time
Monica π₯π
