School of Strength Bega

School of Strength Bega We are an "Appointment Only" facility focusing on strength and mobility in all sessions. We build strength, speed and power in a friendly, engaging environment.

Come and find out why the School is an award winning gym today! Strength. The Secret Sauce. The School Of Strength is like no other training facility you have been in. It does not rely on fancy machines. We would rather use the tools that work your mind and body. In the School this is how we define:

Knowledge=Power
Power=Speed
Speed=Mobility
Mobility=Strength
Strength=Muscle
Muscle=Knowledge

Come to the School armed with your "WHY" and leave with a new purpose. The secret sauce.

When you are next training at your local gym, ask them how they support the next crop of trainers coming through. It will shock you how many are fearful of the next crop.

Currently at the School, we have two SBATs, one full time Trainee undertaking their Cert 4, one who has nearly completed the Certificate 4 in the next month, plus assisted two other Certificate 4 in Fitness in a mentor capacity.

Why? Because we want people to get a proper understanding of what the industry is all about. It isn't all about reels. It isn't about showing people who strong you are, it's about engagement with clients, building them up and caring about their journey.

Well done .am.carlibriggs. It has been a huge journey, and we are so proud to see you come out the other end! It's your time to RISE!

Snacking? One of the best pastimes ever invented by humans.

Lights in the fridge? One of our worst inventions!

Why? Because it allows us to see what's in the fridge after dark.

This is a great article on the effects that midnight snacking has on your entire body.

Midnight snacking makes you hungrier and less full. Less calories are burnt and more fat is stored fat than if you'd had that snack at 8pm.

Something to think about over the week.

What does your circle look like?

Outside of your family, think about who you hang out with the most.

Are they a help or a hindrance?

Only you can decide that.

Did someone say cheese?

I have been a firm believer eating food in its most natural state. Yes, processimg is good. Now before you go all food zealot on me, in your carnivore, keto crazed, hear me out.

If you take full fat dairy, for example. Process the raw milk. Pasteurise and homogenize it. Hmmm. Yum. Now process it more, and remove the fat. Well, not so yum (IMHO, of course).

Now, before you dietitians get excited, yes, we can eat far too much fat for our bodies, but we eat far more processed foods. If we can eat full fat cheese, and drink full fat milk, and have a spoon of full fat cream, our bodies (and according to the studies) our brains will love us for it.

If you want to get up to date nutritional advice without the "bro-science" pop into 125 Auckland Street for a chat. Nutrition doesn't have to complicated.

That slice of full-fat cheese might not just be indulgent—it could be linked to a healthier brain.

There is always time to get fitter, stronger and better regardless of the weather.

It all comes down to you.

If you want realistic change that lasts for a lifetime instead of for 8 weeks, pop in and have a chat to us at 125 Auckland Street.

This is why we have plenty of variations and heights for step ups!

Step ups are one of my favorite exercises for athletes. High box, low box, heavier loads, faster reps, contrast work, all of them can shift the demand a little bit.

I just released my new GPP Reloaded + Speed Kills bundle, which gives you 12 weeks of programming and shows how I build speed, strength, plyometrics, conditioning, and unilateral work into a full plan.

If you want to see where step ups and other single leg variations fit, this is a good place to start.

This is something that happens in 95% of the sessions here at the School.

Why? Because not everything has to be about "going to failure" in the gym, or in life!

If you want a new way to look at training, pop into 125 Auckland Street for a chat.

In the meantime, take a read of the article from Outside Line.

According to new research, keeping two repetitions in reserve is almost as good as maxing out every set of your strength routine.

This is something that this time of year should be the front of mind.

Yes. It's getting cold. Yes. The weather isn't great. But, you still need to do the work.

One example is moving your session back an hour, or changing your morning session for an afternoon.

Another example is undertaking another activity at the same time. Instead of running, head into the gym, or vice-a-versa.

It will definitely keep your body and brain active during these colder months.

During the week, we had a visit by Bega Valley Community Mental Health and Safe Haven to share coffee and cake with our Older Men's Group.

We have had a couple of recent deaths in the group, so it was the perfect time to chat about grief, mental health, and how we can go about helping each other!

Thank you for coming in Margaret and John. It meant more than you realise. We have even had a request by our Older Ladies to also hold a coffee and cake session with them as well. We truly do amazing things at the School.
