Western Zone selectors have named the following 20 player squad as we start our preparations for next season's Country Colts Carnival, which we expect to be in its regular October timeslot at the start of the season. The squad will be reduced in numbers as we get closer to the carnival.

With the final Colts match played on Sunday, the Tremain-Copeland Cup winner has been determined. After winning both the Men's and Colts divisions, Central West Cricket Council takes out the Cup this season. Western Plains won the Under 16s Division.

The individual awards this season went to:

Toby Middleton (Colts)
Lochlan Shoemark (under 16s)

Our final Colts match was played yesterday in Bathurst, with Central West getting home by 6 wickets.

A big thank you to the Central West players who filled in for the Western Plains team.

You can expect to see our Colts squad named in the very near future as we start preparations for next season's Country Colts carnival. Good luck to all.

Congratulations to Lachlan (Under 14s), Mudgee (Under 13s) and Bathurst (under 12s) on winning their respective junior representative competitions on Sunday.

Congratulations to Dubbo District Junior Cricket Association on winning the Under 16 Greg Griffith Shield Grand Final yesterday against Bathurst to go through the season undefeated.

Congratulations to Orange District Cricket Association on winning the Western Zone Cup Final today in Mudgee.

Orange batted first and after losing 3 early wickets, skipper Harry Grindle (88) and Fletcher Byrne (113) added 171 for the 4th wicket to propel Orange to their final score of 6-257 from their 50 overs. Michael Wostear and Reuben Cavanagh each picked up 2 wickets for Mudgee.

Orange were then able to restrict Mudgee to 165 all out, with Ollie Brincat (3/23), Harry Dyer (3/39) and Toby Middleton (2/30) the best of the Orange bowlers. For Mudgee, Steven Knight top scored with 43, while Oliver Hollow (26) and Rob Newham (25) also making handy contributions.

Our Junior Grand Finals will be played across the Zone this Sunday, with Bathurst, Dubbo and Mudgee all hosting matches

The final round of the Under 16s Greg Griffith Shield competition was played yesterday, with Dubbo posting their 6th win from as many matches and Lachlan picking up their first of the season.

Dubbo will now host Bathurst in next Sunday's Final.
