BREAKING NEWS - due to the inclement weather in NSW, tonight's race meeting at Penrith has been rescheduled for Monday afternoon. Because it is a postponement and not abandoned - and within a 24 hour window of the original scheduled completion of Round 17 - Penrith will still be included for points - but it will now take place on Monday instead of tonight (Thursday) as originally planned. This means lockout will lift slightly later than normal due to the Monday race meeting. Given this decision was made just after the Round 17 lockout was imposed, we believe this is the fairest outcome for the majority of players at short notice.

It has been a very sad few days for the harness racing industry with the tragic passing of our dear friend Greg Sugars. Greg was adored and respected by all and we saw that reflected through the Fantasy Harness Racing game. His points-scoring was elite. His results were remarkable. He was highly owned and a fixture in teams nation-wide. He was one of the most popular drivers in the game. We're all still trying to process the devastating news of his passing. It is still so raw and confronting. But knowing Greg and how passionate he was about the great sport of harness racing, he would want the game to go on. He loved the fans and how invested you all were in our horses and the results on track. In terms of Fantasy sports, these are unprecedented times. We've spent the day in discussions with the developer to work out a fair and responsible approach to assist teams and coaches heading into round 14, given how highly owned Greg is in teams. We have decided to enable an extra trade for all teams for round 14, so you will have three trades to use this week. It will appear in the platform on Tuesday morning. Note - we spent some time looking into the analytics and ownership data to gauge how this would impact teams and the leaderboard. We are very confident this will not adversely impact on the current standings. We also had to run some testing to be sure this could be done at short notice without causing technical issues - hence this being announced now. We are grateful that the developer has shown incredible compassion and gone beyond their remit to make this happen. None of this can quell the sadness we all feel right now. But we're hopeful it assists coaches with their teams as we head into round 14. Greg Sugars was a wonderful man and will be forever remembered as a Fantasy Harness Racing legend. He will be sorely missed and never forgotten. Our thoughts are with Jess and Greg's family and loved ones at this sad time. RIP Greg x
