Queensland hit back 💥

Congratulations to the Queensland players who took out Game II of the 2026 State of Origin series 👏

And congratulations to Sam Walker, who earned Player of the Match honours after he controlled the contest with a flawless night from the tee and more than 400 kicking metres.

Now it’s all on the line in Brisbane for Game III, and it’s looking like it’s going to be an absolute battle 🔥

Vinaka vaka levu Marcelo 👏🤝

After announcing his retirement at the end of the season, the RLPA congratulates Marcelo Montoya on a wonderful rugby league career.

Montoya made his NRL debut with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in 2017 before he continued his career across the Tasman with the New Zealand Warriors. A proud Fiji Bati representative, he became a fan favourite in New Zealand, praised for his fearless carries and tireless work ethic on the field, and his selfless contributions off of it.

He returned to the Bulldogs, where he has since brought valuable experience back to the club where his NRL journey began. As a senior figure in a young and ambitious squad, Montoya has continued to set the standard through his professionalism and leadership.

The RLPA thanks Marcelo for his outstanding contribution to rugby league and looks forward to welcoming him into the Past Player & Transition Program at the end of the season.
