When our coach Coops says turn up for a social paddle no one stays at home!

We were surrounded by whales and dolphins this morning Julian Rocks. You could hear the whales guttural squeals as they passed by our canoes. Frisky dolphins playing with us on the waves.

This photo captures the skill of a steerer and their crew and has been the experience for NROCC crossing the sacred Ballina bar some days.

Our steerers and crew are incredibly skilled and experienced. Every crossing requires trust, teamwork and respect. We put our complete trust in one another because out there every one of us matters.

One of our mottos is One Canoe. One Paddle. One Heart. ❤️ and on the wild days we are One.

Big love to the conditions of Richmond River meeting the Pacific Ocean 🌊

Photo credit: Georges Cronstead the crew is Tahiti at the Hawaiki Nui Va’a V6 races. Amazing!!

(please know NROCC always put safety first, we wear a PFD, most days its calmer and if anyone doesn’t want to cross we don’t) but we do love it WILD 🌈

NROCC smashed it out at Hamilton Island Cup 2026 with true grit and determination! Our race crew consisted of very experienced paddlers including legends, Denise Cooper and Brooke Harris and some novice paddlers racing their first ever race season. The crew were super excited to be part of the return of the Iconic Hamilton Island cup. Congrats to all the crew, Phil W, Mike, Andrew, Phil B, Elizabeth White, Kelli, Pamela Ann Skinberg, Lindy O'Brien Brooke Harris and Denise Cooper Special thanks to Outrigger Whitsunday for canoe hire, Dirk and Garth for providing our support boat and being skipper, crew and photographer aboard "Happy Hour" and to Lyn Fitch for being our boat bi (I mean boat mum) 🤣 Thanks AOCRA and Hamilton island Cup organisers for a fabulous event!
